okay, i just recieved my 18650 host from Jay

http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-18650-build-kit-easy-assembly-445nm-blu-ray-red-43857.html

im running into a big trouble when trying to make this host work properly with my laser and driver. basically i followed the instructions. removed the p4 emiter driver and its components, i then soldered my driver onto the + and - wires on the p4 emmiter driver. and it does not work. i have my laser diodes case pin soldered onto the negatice pin. im not sure if that would be the cause. i have a feeling that this host is a case positive one. if so how can i and what do i need to do with the case pin? please help :yabbem:

Case negative/positive is determined by the direction the batter is put in. Positive end towards the tail cap case positive. Negative end towards the tail cap- case negative. I have a laser built in that same host by another forum member that's case negative. You can't use the P4 emitter's driver. You need a flex or boost drive. Unless you buy a blank board from somewhere like DX you'll have to either desolder the components (probably can use a screw driver and scrape them off too) or bypass it completely by drilling through the board in the center of the positive contact pad giving you a place to run and solder your positive connection to. You can probably reuse the negative connection point on the driver board. I've never used this host in a build so I can't say for sure but it should work.
