Hi all, Im new to the forum but i was wondering if the laser being sold in the stickied thread entitled "message from sponsor Lvyilaser" is a good laser and if it is a trustworthy buyer. Has anyone bought from this site and if so do u have any imput on the laser?

No it's not .. it's just some spammer. I don't understand how it is sticky all that time.
Get similar priced 445 from o-like or rayfoss.

As the good Dr said, O-Like or Rayfoss is your best bet, cheap and fairly good quality for the price

Never mind i found it, it says on the site that the laser puts out 700mw max? Seems kinda low.

Haha I dont mean by any means that a 700mw laser isn't powerful. All im saying is that for a diode rated at one wat they have it toned down quite a lot from its potential.

Heat reasons longer run time and more reliability for customer products for less returns. It seems about on par with some of the other "1W" 445 sellers around.

Yea that was exactly my first thought but recently they put up a laser on their site that has a output of 900mw and i see where your coming from concerning longer runtimes but if its a 1 wat laser then i don't think the extra 200 mw would noticeably effect its life span. Correct me if im wrong but from how i understand it thats how it works.

I would agree I think that's how it works. IMO O-like is a little better than Rayfoss but for a cheaper laser with more power and the same (if not better) quality, then just buy one from a member on here.

You could always build one. If you do, DTR sells diodes and flexdrives (set to how much power you want) and if you buy them together, you save $5 on the flexdrive and he can even solder the wires from the driver to the diode and press the diode into a module. Sorry; run-on sentence. I got my diode and flexdrive from him: shipping took 2 days. For a host, (I bought a Guidesman host from Mohrenberg: 3 days shipping) go to Mohrenberg or Jayrob. In terms of a lens, I just bought one for $12.50 from Aixiz on eBay: it is their 405 glass lens. It also took 2 days for shipping. If you decide to build one, I can get you links to where these members are selling their stuff (and the link to the eBay auction).

Awesome. Make sure you take some beamshot pictures and videos and post them in the Multimedia section when you get it.

You can get them from Dragonlasers for like $43 or so. You can also go to:
Radiant Electronics
and get the radiant shades. You can use a discount code for $5 off so they are $14 before shipping. I think it is LPFSHADES5. I know the codes are on a thread somewhere on here: it was started by Mariomaster.
