I was browsing eBay, and I came across an item that seemed to be good. It's a 1W to 1.2W blue 445-450nm laser. It's 51.29 each and I was planning on buying 2. The host is the same as a lazerer stick and I personally think I should purchase it, but I want some experienced opinions. BTW: I HAVE laser goggles, that do block out the blue light, I've tested them, F.Y.I. Thanks! Oh yeah, the listing ends in 4 hours

You get what you pay for.
There was a guy on here that got one of those. He said it worked great at first and the dot got more and more sloppy. He opened it up and it had the acrylic lens in it. It was
melted.

I run my lasers for around 10 - 20 seconds so I'm not sure that that's a problem... Even when I feel the laser getting the slightest bit warm, I turn it off and leave it for 20 seconds to 1 minute. Do you think it will be ok? Thanks :)

for that price?... maybe for a few weeks.. its not the duty cycle that will kill the acrylic lens. it will be the light of the laser that will melt the lens

I think the guy replaced it with a glass one. I dont remember the specs on the laser. Maybe he was abusin the duty cycle! Either way if it is acrylic and pretty powerful im sure it wont last long! You got a link for this laser?

Well it does look like a generic low quality ebay laser. It really doesn't say much about it in the description.
"Engineers and workers pointing out points of interest on a project"
That is kinda entertaining to read.
Either way it will be a gamble. This could also be a dangerous first laser. Usually not recommended for a first timer.

I bought one from a U.S. seller before, he claimed it was an Islam plt450b, and it output around 1.2 watts, with a power certificate, it seems to be good quality. Do you think i should buy it or pass? Thanks!

Well if you going for my full opinion then I'de say pass. The price of the bare diode is about that. There are builders that sell lasers on here of great quality for not much more then what your currently willing to spend.

This guy Eitan makes great lasers! This way you are supporting our community and not some random laser seller in china!

i just realized I said Islam plt450b, I meant to say osram plt450b hahah

 Omg ahaha XD

lol I'd say pass. I was thinking of buying this one a few months ago but I decided not to risk it. At the end, I bought one from Eitan (the one 10fenny recommended, but the 1.3-1.8W version). I'm waiting for it to arrive now :)
