- 2 TECs to increase cooling time

If anything, using TEC's will give you shorter runtime. 1. Because they are a huge load on your batteries, 2. Because they're not very efficient, meaning they'll generate a fair bit more heat than they move.

so you'll actually end up with shorter runtimes. I would not recommend TEC's in handhelds unless required for something like crystal temp stabilization.

Wow 12 modes you'll have to have them engraved on the side of the laser so you can remember what they all are :tinfoil:

- 6 selectable output values per each high or low mode, for a total of 12 different modes-

nice pics but three posts in a row in the same few minutes is triple posting-- no biggie but you will eventually get called out for this-

as far as going big- mmm- many kill the diode or driver or both in first builds so smart money builds small at first and works their way up to BIG.
an intro thread at the Welcome section would have been a better first thread IMHO.
but

WELCOME all the same

Sorry, I'm use to a flow in my postings from other forums, a start, a middle, and a end. I'll remember this in the future.

Don't plan on building more than one (For a while at least), so I had to go big or go home ;) I expected on killing items, but I was ready for it. I ended up killing my driver so I have something to go from.

Yea =\ I know, but I was wanting to get this posted, I will catch up on a intro thread in just a minute.

ps PLEASE add your location to your personal profile page--this is important..

Done

Thanks,

J

Just couldn't go simple could you :yh: Just had to build an analog switch 12mode fan cooled 9mm build. Lookin good so far and hopefully that new driver ships soon. Be sure to post a vid too when you've finally got it done. GL

Note: Also, the quick connects are a stellar idea.

Good job... Are you powering the fan directly from the cells? Have you tested to see how much draw the fan is taking with the diode running also. I've got several fan builds a 2 of my favorites are fan select only modes. Are u using flex wire you'll need that I think. Good luck this 9mm should be epic.

Yup, they are wired directly to the cells, the negative will be active with the push button on the C3 host. Essentially the 0.3 output levels are going to be my cool down modes.

I have the data sheets somewhere that came with the fans, they are rated 5 volts and I'm doing a kill test to see how they hold up to 2 batteries without a voltage divider or a ZNE diode (Spell check) to reduce the voltage.

I didn't use any special wire, just what extra wire I had laying around the house from older projects. On a bright side, the driver is going to be in Thursday and I hope to have this complete and have a final product posting up by then ^^
