doesnt mean they are good. A TON of chinese companies make crappy glasses and label them as OD4 or OD5 when in reality they are basically overpriced, over promised orange tinted sunglasses

I talked to mccrouse and he said if i sent the host to him, he will put the heatsink in.

So would I have everything needed to build this laser. I would get:
(2) 18650 batteries
C8 CREE host
C8 CREE battery extension
Safety Goggles
Heatsink
445nm 9mm Diode In V4 Copper Module W/2.2A X-Drive Stock Lens Option(which i believe has the diode, drive, module, and lens)

Is that all?

you need a battery contact if the flashlight doesnt come with one. if it does then you need to take all the components off the board to use as a contact board

looks to be a complete list of items to build a working laser

EDIT: cheapest way to do things is send flashlight directly to Mrcrouse instead of shipping it to you then to him.

then you are good to go as far as i can tell.

BTW, when you get the flashlight check to make sure its a battery contact and not a driver. if its a driver then take all the components off it so its just a contact

Ok, but i will not know till the heatsink is put in and sent to me.

The driver from the led flashlight is still in there and it appears to be in there pretty well. Im not sure of the best way to remove it.

post a picture of both sides of the pill and i will suggest the best way to get it out. do you care if the driver gets destroyed in the process or not?

Ok so from what I have read you plan to put one of DTR's premade 9mm setups in a C8. What LL mentioned above you will need a contact board that will touch the positive end of the 18650 cell and carry it to the driver DTR has soldered to the diode. The C8 already has a driver installed as you have mentioned and that driver can be utilized as the contact board. In order to do this you need to remove driver from the C8 and then remove the components from it. I suggest removing everything from it using a soldering iron to heat up the solder on each component and then just pop them off one by one. Another slightly more risky but faster method is to just pry the components off with some small pliers. The goal is to clean the driver that came with the C8 and then to solder the leads that are on the setup from DTR onto it and then to place it back inside the C8. If you post a clear and close up picture of the cleaned C8 driver we can instruct you on where to solder the leads.

So first off like LL said, post a picture of the C8's driver and we can help you remove it without ruining it since you will need it for the final build. If you are unsuccessful at removing the C8's driver without damaging it there are other places you can buy a contact board from.

I am having difficulties posting the pictures as it is asking for only a url link to the picture but I took the picture with the webcam so there is no url link to the picture.

Ok, I had figured it out.
I had posted both sides of the host, the battery contact and the driver side.
It appears that it is glued onto the host.

to remove the emitter star just take a small screw driver or allen wrench and pop it out but putting the tool under the board and prying it up. Same thing goes for the driver. Star and driver should be pretty easy to pop out with a screw driver.

EDIT: It also looks like you need to remove the emitter star in order to get the pill out. in my C8 the pill unscrews but yours looks nothing like mine, typical chinese copies! once you get the star out, take some pliers and put them in the pill, open them all the way up to try and grasp the sides and turn them. its going to be tough to get it out but should work. or you really dont need to get it out since its a hollow pill. you could always remove the star and driver, press your driver in and then just solder the diode to the driver leads in the host.
