I finally got a clamp to attach my lasers to my tripod!

Here's a few pictures of the Dot at a distance of 400 Meters (1/4 Mile)

With a starting beam diameter of 3.5mm fopr the fast axis, the Bar was about 1.422 meters long(I forgot to measure the slow axis)

Good beamshot's were not possible since my monopod was not good enough to do a long exposure shot(I only have 1 tripod)

I also used my WL PD Pro 100mW 532nm. From the same distance the dot was 0.610 meters across.

I dont care that this is old. These pictures are awesome and deserve at least a second comment and some rep

Has anyone ever done any long distance LPM tests on here? I searched through the forums and couldn't find any threads for it. Like if you measured the output of the center of those long distance 445 and 532 beam spots?

Strictly out of curiosity, Since I know the power at that long of a distance wouldn't burn or anything. Although I have an amusing picture in my head of a large magnifying glass at the end of those beams trying to light a match :p

With a good beam expander and a quality laser people have been able to burn things at long distances

Please excuse the use of a wickedlasers arctic in the video. It was the only example I could find right now.

The problem with handhelds that prevents this is the small cheap lenses that work fine for collamination but not for distance focusing.

That is a very nice laser clamp for your tripod. Where can I get one of those?

Thank you.

PS... Ordered spartan 1w lastnight. Cant wait. Feels just like waiting for CNI 95mW 4 years ago.

I made it from a Camera accessory clamp that I got on ebay. Just a little modification...

It's hard to explain(I just tried and confused myself), but basically all you need is a washer that will fit the thread type that tri-pods use, and a drill to make the mounting hole on the clamp a bit wider. You flip that pivot mount around, and your good to go.

Here's a video I made of the 1.9W Guidesman with snow on the ground/mist in the air.

Ah very nice. Thank you. I saw a clamp on a sticky thread about accessories. I'll prob order that from DX. Hopefully its big enough to hold spartan.

I don't suppose you'd happen to know the threading of the Spartan tail cap?
Or as a really long shot, where to get an extra?

I'm going to invest in a Spartan, but I just can't live without it being a momentary side clicky. Since I don't want to modify the host, I'm really hoping to either find, or make, something like this:
$5.32 - Pressure Switch for Ultrafire C2 Flashlight (55cm Coiled Cable) - Flashlight Accessories

And give myself the "side-clicky-like" experience, without actually modifying the laser.
