hmm guess I have erased some memory from these NiMh's . . .

First couple of charges resulted in 5.2 V . . . but after a couple of discharge and balance cycles the total pack voltage is now 5.88.

It's gone down to 5.86 since I took the pic . . .

Do I dare connect this to the MicroFlexDrive V5? I know the manual says 5.5 V max . . . and I'm all out of diodes . . . thanks Jerry ;)

or stick my 10W 1 ohm resistor on it for a minute or so . . ?

okay 30 seconds on the 10W resistor got it down to 5.6 but it climbed back up to 5.65 . . . going for another 30 seconds . . .

and it's back up to 5.64 . . . heh . . . great batts . . .

Once you start pulling current from those batteries (>1 amps or so) the voltage will drop a bit. Unloaded voltages will always be slightly higher. So I think you would have been okay.

Yup, I waited until it got down to about 5.6. Then with the multimeter on it I turned it on . . . It dropped to 5.34 and then rose to about 5.45 . . .

Everything still works . . . =)

Only about an hour till "darktime" :can:
