well, curiosity finally got the best of me... i posted my ma and mw in grix's list. but after all the reading and such i decided to bump up the power.

for those who want instant info, my set up is/was:

flex drive v5 set to 810ma
aixiz 445nm glass lens brass housing full threads
2600mah 18650 batt.
mw on fresh batts is 670.
dorcy led aluminum host
1 ounce of additional heatsinking
i had about 3-4 hours of on time with this. but actual cycle time dramatically decreased the more time passed.

so i turned up my power to 1650ma. my cycle times now are rarely over 30 seconds. I do not have an LPM. so next time i am at Glens i will test it.

but as far as noticable burn power it cuts a wooden match now in about 2-3 seconds as where before it was closer to 10 seconds.

How did you measure this current?

^^^you're making me nervous... i had the diode hooked up to the driver like normal operation.. put my meter set to ma clip on to the LD + & - , turned my meter on the the laser. my meter read around the 805. i then turned the laser of and kept barely tapping the pot clock wise until i was happy at 1651.

note, when i first configured my driver i used the test load method for setting my pot. i put my dmm to mv and read mv across the 1ohm resistor.

another note. i did not do this on a fresh battery, but after about 15mns of cyclical use my beam is flickering and my batt voltage is around 2.81v
