Nobody's going to sell you a high powered laser, that would be a lot like breaking the law. You need to get the parts (legal) & learn to build one yourself (also legal)

However.... Is there a waiver, contract or something that exists protecting whomever that might agree to sell a 'buildable' kit for selling to someone? If something stated that the purchaser (1) knew of the danger that comes with an HPL and (2) must exercise the same level of caution as one would with a loaded firearm ...followed by a few disclaimers and that strongly emphasizes on SAFETY (?)

I don't know, I just woke up... I need my irish coffee. I'm pretty sure something like this is already out there though, it just needs to be brought to the surface

I sincerely hope no one supplies lasers to posts like these whether they be FDA stings or not

the FDA is more concerned with medical marijuana right now !!!
(god forbid people utilize an ages-old plant to medicate themselves for their ills..)
(that's a different forum , I guess but .....)

I intend on acquiring some light-show scanners that are 5-watt or higher for legit. and legal light-show stuff ...

Scanners are the moving mirrors in laser projectors. I don't envy you getting those varianced for public or live shows :banghead:

yeah i know that scanner denotes more the moving hardware but still... yeah

6 feet above the highest head and 3 feet lateral I think is the FDA rule for public lasing...

i may be off, by inches or a foot but generally I think that's the deal...

you also need interlocks for saftey as well. i believe a time delay, and and integrated beam stopper incase the galvos stop.

it's not just a clearance issue. my

michael.
