Hello All.
I have just finished my two near identical builds, and i want to share with the community, and hopefully give some people pointers on how to build on of these!
First off, these are 445nm lasers in C8 hosts, driven at 1.8A. These ARE M140s.
SADLY THERE IS AN 8 PICTURE LIMIT. I WILL POST A REPLY WITH THE REST OF THE PICTURES LATER, LIKE BEAM SHOTS
Lets start with the pill... I used a Mohgasm Linear Driver, didn't have any boosts
Soldered output leads and a case wire. I actually made 3 of these in custom C8 pills for future builds
Now that those were done, i started with the build...
I started with a C8 flashlight from ebay;
I removed all the parts inside, the reflector, the lens, the o-ring, and the pill with the emitter and driver;
(You can see some of the other removed parts in the upper left corner)
Then, i screwed in and secured my new pill with correct spacing, as to let the body screw together properly:
Then, I installed my diode into the copper module, put the module and screwed it into the heatsink, added my G-2 lens, and a focus adapter!
Then, i wired the + and - leads from the pill and driver i put together earlier to the + and - of the LD. I heat-shrinked the connections to protect them and make them more sturdy.
Then, i put the heatsink in the head, and screwed the top crown on to secure everything.
AND VIOLA! ALL DONE!
I LPMd this with my blufan. Went off the 2 watt limit, and i'm still waiting for my range extender so i can measure above 2 watts.
Right now however, i am estimating this @ about 2,100mw - 2,200mw. Not bad
Well, this is my 8th and sadly last picture. I will post more beamshots and stuff later. HERE YOU GO!
