Build/Review: 3.5W+ Sinner's MS-Envy Custom Host
18350x2 @2.3A Build Thread

Hey All
28ahpfq.jpg

I made a new laser using DTR's 9mm 445nm diode in the new MS-Envy Custom
Hosts and the results are astonishing , It is set at 2.3A current and puts out
an outrageous amount of power, Infact It is the most powerful laser i have made, Till date! :gun:

Components Used
- 9mm Nichia NDB7875 445nm Diode - DTR's Laser Shop
- MS-Envy 18650 Custom Host (2.3A JAD Kit).
- AW 18350x2 Li-Mn (IMR).
- Stock G9 Lens in DTR Brass Lens holder.
- ARGMeter Ophir 5W LPM with Data Logging.

MS-Envy - 18650 Custom Host Features:

- 30mm OD , Solid Aluminium Extended Heatsink*
- 5.25mm Thick Aluminium Walls.
- Double sided 17mm Driver Pill Pressfit-Design** (Dual-Driver support).
- Holds Both Single 18650 as well as Double 18350/16340.
- ExtraOrdinary Stable Builds for more than 5min Duty Cycle.
- Tripod Mount 1/4" Standard 3mm Set Screw.
- Metail Clicky - Polished

Recommended Duty Cycles:

<180s for 9mm Diode @2.4A
<300s for 9mm Diode @2.2A
<600s for 9mm Diode @2.0A
Maximum*: 15minutes @2A

Recommended: 15minutes M140 Diode @1.8A
Maximum*: Unlimited <1hr

Now we come to the interesting part of any build, The LPM test  I did two consecutive LPM tests, The tests were done in airconditioned environment.

Looks quite decent :D

amazing laser you got there  very impressive duty cycle as well :D what duty cycle would your recommend for a 9mm at 2.2amps in your MS-SSW host? ;)

Nice work! I like that host a lot.

Do you make any hosts that can be used for multi-diode builds by chance?

:bowdown::bowdown:Mother OF God!!! What wizardry is this ?!?!

Thanks Will  This host is made purely for duty-cycle & stability without sacrificing the looks as extended heatsinks make the host very very long, This design has changed that concept.

For your MS-SSW I would recommend <180s depending on your diode efficiency the heat generated would differ, but i have seen members running their MS-SSW's for much more than that! It should be fine untill the heatsink gets more than warm you should let it cool down.

Sure i can make one but personally i feel that the current designs are too fragile IMO, I have yet to start working with optics and knife edging & beam combining. So untill i develop proper optic mounts I can't say anything!

Very sweet indeed... Can please share what driver you used?

I used a modified buck driver from Dx. Glad you like it :thanks:

Hey, Sinner...glad to see you got a nice, polished Envy up and running with such an efficient diode! I can't wait to have this one in the permanent collection as well!

Kudos to you, good sir.

Thank you Brian! I have been getting pretty efficient diodes lately, and this one is hands down the King of my collection

:thanks: for your kind words good sir!

Thanks Eitan, I'm slowly building up my collection I'll need a green laser soon , I'll hit Sci-fi lasers sometime soon

Nice, would you be able to tell me what epoxy or high temp glue you used for your DX driver? Thanks.

Aww was hoping to see a ms v1 in there. Just picked one up. About to send it off for some creamy blue filling!

Looks Great, Put me down for one. Please pm me with postage to Australia!
Cheers.

I couldn't help myself, two hosts have found a new home and are on their way to OZ!
