Default Build 445nm 2w

hello (i'm french and my english is bad... sorry)

I am a beginner on the construction of laser and I would like to assemble a laser 2000mw 445nm, preferably reliable but not too expensive and is difficult to make a good compromise since I do not know the subject very well.

I inquired about the components, but I still have questions,
So I come to you hoping to get some tips

First, the diode:
she seems to me well:
DIY 445nm M140 Diode in Module With Wire Leads

Or it is better to take those? :
Binned DIY 2.2W 445nm M140 Diode in Copper Module With Wire Leads

DIY 445nm M140 Diode

Lens :
Is there a real difference between the two ? Does it worth g2 ? the other is it suitable ? Because there is a big price difference
G-2 Lens Assembly
445nm AR Coated Standard Glass Lens Assembly

Driver
Survival Laser Driver

Battery
18650 Battery and Charger Combo

For host assembly I found this:
DIY S4? Host Assembly, Unmarked

But I must take this extension if I want to put 2 18650 batteries (because with a single battery the laser loses a lot of power):
Battery Extension Tube- Black Anodized Aluminum

Now all assembled, the body of the laser is tall (too much). do you have another laser body to offer me?

Each component can be mounted and fit well together?
Do you have any advice to offer me? There are sites where it is best to order and another to avoid?

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I am at your service

Default Re: Build 445nm 2w

I highly recommend you read alot more here.

The second diode link, the binned m140s, would be the best.

For the lenses, the G2 will give more power. The other lens is likely a 3-element glass lense, which will make a better looking beam and dot. If power is what you want, the G2 is best.

For the battery, you could instead use 2 16340s or 18350s instead of 18650. You don't have to use the extension tube if you use smaller batteries.

I also wouldn't recommend that host for a 2W laser. You can use it, but it will have a very short duty cycle. The laser will generate alot of heat, and the host you chose is very small, so it cannot handle very much heat. If you want to keep it small, just realize that you can't run it very long. With a bigger host, you will have a bigger heatsink, and thus longer duty cycle.

Here's a list of hosts: DTR's host/heatsink page.

Also grab some Eagle Pair safety glasses at survival laser. Definitely a necessity.

This.

Also for a host I recommend talking to the member JayRob as he makes some really nice single diode hosts.

thank you very much for your advice

the battery 16340s or 18350s are characterized 800mah, it is not too low?
