Do you have a known good quality cell? It's possible that a cell with high impedance can cause drivers to blink when the voltage drops and triggers undervoltage protection.
Yea but does that have a pattern? Because my blinking is definitely a pattern. Also I am confident it's not the batt because I pulled it all apart and hooked it up batt to driver to diode(no case no switch) and it was solid. There are two places the weak connection are possible, one is the switch since its from a cheap 2$ flashlight, and where the driver contact the casing, it just kinda brushes agains the case, I'm going to solder it on later, will update today
It's a boost driver I believe it's a one battery system and its set at 1.8amps output the battery's actual reading is 3.4amps plus the 4.2-3.7v range I have two to use because when I got the batteries it came in a pair of two
Okay bad news I fear something has happened but am unsure as to what. It is now solid dim. It also doesn't seem to want to focus and raw output has gone from ellipse to dim circle. What on earth happened?
Probably might've contributed. Diodes tend to flicker if their power is unstable, or if they are too hot. What driver are you using? And are you using a single 18650? Is it regulated or anything? Pictures would be extremely helpful too. Test your driver too, make sure it's providing appropriate voltage and current. Laser diodes are sensitive and they tend to die even if you so much as look at them wrong...
