Attention: Positive conductor nipple on Arctic can damage certain 18650's

I just destroyed an AW2600 while using the Arctic. You could hear something rattling around inside the cell when you shake it.

Turns out that the AW2600 is 67mm long instead of 65mm long. When the tailcap is screwed all the way on, the positive nipple dents the end of the cell. The cell worked for a day until something physically broke I guess.

I just tried it with the provided 1300mah 18650 and it works just fine since it's 2mm shorter. Guess I'll need to sand 2mm off of this nipple so that my AW's will work...

There's really not enough room in there for a protected battery.

My AW's fit with barely a dent in the + end. I must have a slightly shorter one then Your's. doesn't speak well for QC if Your AW's are damaged and Mine aren't. I will mic mine tomorrow to confirm it really is not as long as your's.

Nevermind, the AW's in question still work. Somehow I got a 0V reading on my multimeter earlier.

I had the same issue with my AW's. I tried one and it worked but it dented the + end of the battery as well. After putting it back in I noticed the laser wouldn't come back on until I unscrewed the cap one turn. I didn't want to potentially damage my good battery even more since I need the good AW's for my new 445 build. I'm just using the stock unprotected battery in the Arctic since it seems to be working good for now.

When my arctic breaks I'm doing a DIY out of it anyways so I'll probably work to make the AW's fit at that point. I'll probably have to grind down the contact post in the tail cap to make it shorter I imagine.

I wouldn't suggest using the AW's for the arctic if you find it's a tight fit. I wouldn't risk wasting a good battery on it without modification.

The Tenergy 2600 protected (cyan) is 66.7mm long. It fits fine in my Arctic.
