From our current knowledge on both the Arctic and Spartan laser, What are your opinions to which is superior? Please use as many facts as possible to back up your opinions. From what I have seen so far it seems as if the Spartan may be significantly better, due mainly to beam specs. If you own a Spartan or Arctic please correct me if I'm wrong.

-If there is another thread comparing the two please redirect me to it and delete my thread.

No one has a Spartan as of yet, they didn't ship the first few until yesterday, so there will be a bit of a wait unfortunately. Welcome to LPF.

In the review section I'm pretty sure I saw a spartan, I'll grab the link in one second.

I guess Its not be the same model as spartan, I was way off...

When my Arctic arrives, I'll be doing a "throwdown" review between MY 445 and the Arctic. I believe my Arctic has shipped but who cares? :) I have two 445's and lovin' the color.

I have both on order from the very first day they where made available. I have neither. Wicked Lasers has till the 7th to contact me, as the 60th day from my card charged date will be coming up, and I have not heard a peep from them. So I need to do a charge back since they will not respond.

I had hoped to do this exact comparison. I may not have the right evaluation meters, but I have something unique that other may not, a thermal camera. I thought it would be neat to measure the heat generated by the lasers and read them with the thermal camera, to see if the beam would show up.(The dot should, but I'm not clear if the suspended beam would)

I'm looking forward to getting the beam expander for the spartan as well ;-)

I have a A-130 diode and a V5 Flexdrive from DrLava set to 1,000mW, so that project should be interested once its finished.

WOW ---- A thermal camera -- I don't have one.
That could reveal some neet stuff !!! I hope you get your laser!

They are not going to rip you off, so why are you going to do a chargeback, there was one guy who they forgot about his order for a green spyder 5mw, and they shipped him a 250mw laser for his troubles worth a a thousand bucks, they are trustable, just they are so overwhelmed when they see your one email vs the 40,000 emails due to 5 emails a person, it is impossible to get to the all at once

You'll see the dot on a adsorber, maybe see how good Wicked's heatsinking is, but not the beam off the dust. Sorry.

This could be very telling. One member has posted that his Arctic did not "heat up" with 10 minutes on! That tells me that the heat is NOT being transferred to the body of the laser

Unfortunately I will not be getting the Arctic. I just emailed them with a refund request.

I ordered over the phone on June 10th when the website was down and all hell broke loose over the internet. The next day I got a RBS Worldpay email, and the card was charged in the 18th. I never received a Order confirmation email with a order number.

Of course I tried emailing and calling them...no answers. People are getting Actics, but nothing for me! Money back please!

Ill be doing a review of the two lasers mentioned plus the custom build i have once i get all of them in my hands (if i ever get them)

I bailed on the Arctic. Some scary reviews of shoddy construction forced me to.

I imagine there will be some alternatives soon.

Frankly, I don't know what I was thinking, or expecting.

I sure hope they've perfected the G2's output of high and low power mode..
I actually expect to get mine today, but that probably won't happen. It was "sent to the shipping center long ago" and "G2's were sent out August 14th" and I "should expect it to see it in 3-5 business days"
