Arctic broke after 5 minutes

After 3 months I finally got the Arctic. I ordered a G1, and requested a G1 the day they offered, but got a G2. Whatever, I don't care. What does bother me though is that the laser would shut off after about 30 seconds, and then it just stopped working at all. I get no indication or lights on it at all. I thought the battery had just died, so I put it in the charger. The charger had a green light when the battery was not installed, and then a red light when it was. After about 5 minutes, the red light turned off and there is no light at all.

So it looks like I have a broken laser and/or a dead battery, and a broken charger. Combine that with my 4 month old 40mw Executive that broke last week too, and I'm not thinking too highly of Wicked Lasers right now.

Sounds like a battery issue. Do you have a multimeter? A cheap multimeter will run about $1. If you read the wl forums you would know the batteries they sell are garbage. Try another battery, a real battery. Also the best place to get help would be in an existing arctic thread, or wicked lasers own forums.

Its quirky that they supply the laser with a battery that isn't up for the job, but if its only the battery, it will not be expensive to replace.

Yea, seems its only some batteries. I plan to keep using my Wicked laser one, I charged it over 10 times because I had it for a month of daily use, nearly 2 months. Works great =D

Sorry for your luck =(

You can try posting in the buy sell and trade section that you are looking for A new battery for your Arctic. You can also check eBay or Amazon and possibly find a good deal. those battery's shouldn't run you any more than 25$ Including a charger. Let us know how your Arctic journey goes :). Alot if not all of the people who got the Arctic had some sort of issue and most if not all had a battery issue. Dispose of those battery's properly and get yourself a new set with the proper charger.

Hope everything works out well for you and I hope you enjoy the forum! Please read all the stickys and the forum rules if you haven't already.

Best of wishes,
Jeff

I tested the battery and charger with a multimeter. The battery read 3.5 volts and the charger while plugged in read anywhere from -1.7 to -0.3. Now I'm no electrician but I think that's bad... Yes, I had the leads on the right points.

Looks like I'll be getting a new battery and charger. I just realized something too. I couldn't even give this back to WL since their warranty says they cover it for 3 months after PURCHASE. Well I did purchase it back on June 11, so I guess that means my warranty is up, right? :wtf:

Depends on how Stingy Wicked Lasers are. I'm betting they won't do anything for you but try anyway.
