445nm "optimised" lenses coated to reflect blue, like 650nm lenses?!
There must be a mistake in Aixiz' part!

Somebody contact them about this, it's out of place.
It does not sound like Aixiz to make such nonsense, it's gotta be somebody's mess up.

I remember one time, first time I ordered from Aixiz, I ordered 3x 5mW red modules, and after 4 months I email them that nothing arrived. I sent them order number, and they said that they've found my order, and they are terribly sorry. They asked me do I want a complete refund or "double order" . I didn't know what the latter meant but I chose it because I needed those modules. In two weeks after that, I recieve SIX 5mW modules. They explained that the "main company staff was on vacation" and basically some new guys screwed something up.

They'll most likely make this right in no time.

Aperture can be measured using number drills as hole gauges unless the lens protrudes too far.

[pic of lens]
Looks exactly like 650 nm lens I have on my table right here.

I'm telling all you folks, contact aixiz! Somebody messed something up, it's out of place, obviously!
And stop using those lenses before somebody loses a diode over that reflection - friendly warning.

Boo :(

Earlier I noticed a 650-g-1 lens made this 445 laser heat up quickly compared to the temporary acrylic. I guess from the internal reflections.
This new aixiz lens seems to do the same thing.

I wish I had an infra-red thermometer type thing to verify this. (my hands aren't very good thermometers and there's the mental bias of knowing a different lens is in the module)

I'm still keeping a positive attitude until a few more people w/ more knowledge and test equipment get a hold of these.

I just emailed them about the order I received today and about the bluish color as seen under sunlight......we'll see what they say.

I hope it's just a mix up and you got sent the wrong lenses...

Because it just doesn't make sense that they would change the coatings of the AixiZ 405 lens, which is what everybody wanted when we ordered, unless it was going to be an improvement...

Not understanding...

I also got mine today, haven't tested it yet, but it's a very faint purplish hue. It also depends on what background there is. If my finger is behind it it has a reddish hue.

Here a is a picture. The light circles with the purple hue is what the whole lens looks like if you get it at the right angle.

Have you received any of your shipment yet Jayrob?

Also, mine looks exactly like the one on the right in your pic as well.

Not yet...

Chuck at AixiZ told me that they were shipping the majority of my order today.

I just e-mailed them about my concerns with the coating. And asked 'why the change'?

Everybody wanted the AixiZ 405 lens that I tested. Just in full length threads is all.

I told him that everybody just took it for granted that if AixiZ is changing the coating, then it will be an improvement.

I don't understand this. I sure hope it is just a mix up and they sent some red lenses or something...

Blame it on the shipping department!

Oh snap, this doesn't look too good... I hope it gets sorted out.

1 question, are the threads too loose like the aixiz 405 glass ? As in, do they require a ridiculous amount of teflon tape ?

They are very loose, I did 5 turns and it could still use more tape.

Got my 2 lenses today, tested them both in my jayrob 18650 host.

I get almost exactly the same power from both lenses as I got from the regular aixiz glass lense. They all 3 show the blueish tint.

375mW(glass), 372mW(445), 368mW(445)

Pulled my 405 lense from my projector to test, and get 383mW from it.
