9mm UtraFire MCU-C88 SXB V8

I got the idea from member RDTech when he was selling his 1W 520nm so I looked for this host in hopes that the price would be reasonable for using it in a build. I got lucky and found some on Eslave for 21.00US each... I bought 2:na:. Back in the day this was a kinda pricey light:cryyy:.

I love the extended heatsink look, most all my builds have them. I countersunk the front just to be different.:shhh:

I'm using the venerable SXB V8 for shear power cause I re-purposed this 9mm from another build, one that was struggling from lack of heatsinking on a X-drive CD. I have it set @2.65A:eg::eg::eg::eg:. The tailcap current draw is 5.56A.

I did not bother to test as of yet my LPM only peaks 3W so yea, 2.65A=burner anyways... a smoke shot on the right.:beer:

Lazeerer Blank Drive. This unit has a center driver pad that threads on both side to hold both haves together I turned the driver pad flat then counter-bored it to hold the SXB

I had fun with this build pretty straight forward very powerful good heatsinking attributes. Going on the top shelf for sure. It has taken over 1 month to get done using here and there method.

Nice clean, classic build! I also like the style of that heatsink; the countersinking on the front really sets it off.
In the 1st photo, the h.s. has a slightly golden look to it. At first I thought it was bronze, or gold plated!
