Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

Half would be superb! And so soon after these have been found.

These projectors have created a near frenzy, hope you don't mind if I just mention to be careful. I'm sure even just the laser arrays are quite a bit of money be sure they won't burn you.

Well of course it's a frenzy! Nothing of this spectacular magnitude has ever happened! lol :D and to think they'll get even cheaper is just ludicrous!

I didn't think I'd ever have a blue laser. ESPECIALLY not at THESE powers! Yet the parts to build one are in the mail to me at this very moment!

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

Yes indeed its a gold rush at this moment.
I too am buying these lasers, who can help themselves.
I think we are at the tip of the iceberg we have lots of data and ideas to work out.

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

I am trying my hardest to resist going into a frenzy myself but I have to say it doesn't seem to be working.

I knew I would be able to get a blue diode at some point. Who knew they would fall from the sky at $50 a pop for 1W. And a mere day before that they where ~$400.

I REALLY wanna see a 445 in a RGB asap. Hope we work out the best optics to get the beams melded nicely.

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

Sorry for the double post.

@kiyoukan If they will sell you just a single array it would be less of your money at risk if they burn you.
I know I already mentioned being careful but getting them for $13.50-22 so quick seems almost too good to be true.

Let us know when you have an idea on how long the shipping will take please. :D

While I'm still skeptical, I am glad you have found a supplier. Would you mind sharing the manufacturer?

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

As far as a close match to looks the XJ-A140 DLP Projector has that position, but IIRC it's better than the 130. So either way, it's a splendid deal :D

Jerry

I just hope they are not like here in Italy, where for some 400 Euro projectors, they ask you 350 Euro for the lamp block :p :D

BTW, when i asked the Casio distributor for the bare LDs block as a spare part, they said me that for Italy at least, they are not yet available (being more precise, they said me that, being a new product, they want to keep all the repair in authorized centers, and the defective units sent back to Casio for investigations about failure causes ..... don't know if is the truth, but at least is plausible) ..... how is possible that in other countries they already sell them freely as spare parts ?

EDIT:

A question for you out there are there any other projectors that use a similar laser array that might be too close to tell the difference, from a picture?

Don't know about laser arrays ..... and the only other videoprojector that i know it's using lasers (635, 532 and 465 nm) is the Evans & Sutherland "ESLP 8K" ..... but, knowing the company, i don't dare to also just imagine the price of that one ..... probably, they can empty your wallet just asking for prices :p :D

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

if this works out its great news!
come on, its sad to sacrifice such a nice thing like a whole state-of-the-art projector just for the lasers..
*runs and hides*

i agree, be careful. they might sell you one or few blocks for a great price, then you do a big GB with big $, and never hear from them again. which may be because they simply sent you blocks they extracted themselves..
at least chose a way of payment where you can fully reclaim your money in case something goes wrong..

my stomach says that things like this happened already several times. okay, my head doesnt really remember which these were in detail, maybe I'm too pessimistic :)

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers

i am going threw manufactures in china i advise anyone thinking of dealing with them to be very careful if not you might end up with a box of shoes....
China can get you good deals but you got to be able to work for them as you will have to sort threw all the scammers to find the real ones and even then there is still a risk.
I got one member a this moment going in on this.
How ever i am would ask someone who has a laser array to please weigh it. and send me the info so when the box comes in if its too light i wont even open it, i will be taking it to some of my friends at the airport to see whats inside. that way i can open a claim to get my money back and showing that there has been no switching of the boxes content.
But in all reality if i file for my money back there going to run...
And i will be left with a box of shoes...
