Re: *445nm lasers* !arrays 550$ and diodes 35$!

Just a heads up on the refunds from paypal, be careful. Because some people may be charged a fee for a refund. I'm not sure why, but I have been charged before from a refund awhile back from a member on ebay.

So as an alternative, you could send the money back as a personal gift. The personal gift doesn't take fees from either party.

With a refund, PayPal also refunds the fees. If he sends it as a "gift" he/we are still out the fees.

Peace,
dave

Re: *445nm lasers* !arrays 550$ and diodes 35$!

Now the Arrays are at $650.00 USD.....

I know it is not kiyoukan's fault... but that also was not
what I ageed to before sending payment...:cryyy:

Jerry
Sorry Kiyoukan, I know your first GB is not going the way you wanted it to. I thank you for all your hard work and I hope it turns out OK but I already have 2*445nm diodes I payed $50/ea for. I jumped in this because I thought for that price I'll take another!!!

I would be willing to pay a little more for the A-140 diode but other than that I agree with lasersbee...

That may have been to cover the eBay fees. I have never had a refund fee on either end (giving or receiving) that's just in my experience not a certainty

PP has recently changed the refund fee policy details, but then this is still a bit up in the air. I will want to support kiyoukan in the mean time and hope for the best! ;) -Glenn

Just a heads up on the refunds from paypal, be careful. Because some people may be charged a fee for a refund. I'm not sure why, but I have been charged before from a refund awhile back from a member on ebay.

As far as I'm know the PayPal 'Refund' system always works and gets the buyer their full payment back at no cost to the seller, so PayPal don't make anything out of the payment or refund.

The only way a refund causes Paypal to profit is when an inexperienced seller make a refund to you as an ordinary PayPal 'Payment'. In that case they charge on both legs of the transaction and make double their usual fees, so it's a very bad idea to do it that way!

Here's what PayPal Help says about 'Refunds':

Question : How do refunds work?
Answer :
When you receive a payment, if necessary you can issue a full or partial refund within a 60 day period.

To issue a refund follow these steps:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at Welcome - PayPal
2. Click ‘History’ at the top of the page
3. Find the transaction you would like to refund and click the ‘Details’ link
4. Click ‘Issue Refund’
5. Enter the refund amount and click ‘Continue’
6. Confirm the information and click ‘Issue Refund’

How is a refund credited?

* If the sender used their PayPal balance or bank account, the money will be refunded to their PayPal account balance
* If the sender used their credit or debit card, the money will be refunded to their card. This may take up to 30 days to appear on the card statement.
* For payments funded partially by credit or debit card and partially by balance, PayPal refunds the card portion back to the card and the remainder to your PayPal balance
* The refund will be credited to the sender in the currency of the original payment, using the same conversion rate used for the original payment
* When you refund the money you received, PayPal also refunds any fees that were charged to you

Funny andy_con hasn't paid or answered emails cause he's posted in the for sale section again today, might be a moot point for this GB though; but it shows he still around.

Re: *445nm lasers* !arrays 550$ and diodes 35$!

^You've been here five minutes so may not be considered as part of the WE just yet. These are well understood and WE know what's going on with these diodes very well thank you. This could be seen as a useless post and you could be better using your time researching and learning the things you need to appreciate this hobby.

Please post less and read more for the time being, you have much to learn judging by your posts so far. People will be far more willing to help if it's clear you've tried to find the information yourself and not gone posting pointlessly, (very apparent to US), to make conversation. This post is meant to help you psi seeker 34, let's hope it does.

Thanks,

M

..why this harsh tone, M? sure, psi's post wasnt *that* informative, there are 445nm diodes on ebay since weeks, at these prices.. but I wouldnt expect such harsh reactions against him just for that..?

Hey Krutz,

Harsh only to try curb a flurry of other harsh posts from the, 'Not so gentle'. If you have a look at psi's other posts it is clear that the time could be spent better reading. It's certainly nothing personal. I try not to be harsh for the sake of it and enjoy seeing others flourish but not at the cost of wasting posts and obvious non-searching.

I'm sure if psi spends some time with the necessary research; real learning and then contributing will come in time. Else, I can see upset coming. Just trying to apply some brakes before the train runs away.

I see that as spam, that is probably his auction.

$35 to $75 is a BIG difference.

^Pretty sure it's just inexperience. Considering recent purchases and questions. Anyway, off topic for these four or five posts so I'll let the thread get on with it's self.

Continue on with the array chat my friends... !

Re: *445nm lasers* !arrays 550$ and diodes 35$!

Getting PMs asking for my "source". Its a favor from a friend, I'm only getting 1 diode. If I had a better source for diodes I would have already posted it.
