Damn Mario, that's sick. How much power is it putting out there?

Mario what current are you running your diode at?

Re: 445nm Casio Laser Diode Compilation Thread

for my kryton build i will be setting it at 750mA, I have tested it at 1 amp and it's probably putting out over a watt of raw light from the diode

i only have crappy lenses though so i wasn't getting all of it out

IIRC was 750mA, several hundred (400+?) mW in the most recent photo - he took it up to 1A, 860mW peak using Acrylic lens at one point. In the final build he'll be running at 750mA.

EDIT: beat me to it...

Interesting. What driver are you using to hit 1A ?

I was thinking a microboost to get it to 750mA would be nice.

If you get a chance could you test the output loss on the stock glass lens?
I dont have a way of mounting the lens at the moment.

Now, what am I supposed to do with all of these 8X's that no one is going to want now? :cryyy:

Bluerays are not a loss, from my testing (burning) they burn better than the 445nm diodes on lighter colored objects.

Sorry. I was joking. They don't go bad on the shelf. They will all go into lasers eventually. ;)

I want them, but not for more than $30. :yabbem:

Are you kiddin me? 50$ is ridiculously cheap for a potential 1W color diode, and they focus with just one lens!

Re: 445nm Casio Laser Diode Compilation Thread

I am so excited for mine to come in.
I am going to need a host a heatsink and a lens though....

Hopefully we will have the perfect lens picked out by then and hopefully someone will be making hosts for it *Cough* JayRob *Cough*

I have an empty host laying around here, but its an odd size, and I cant make my own heatsinks......

This will be my first laser like this. I never had a blu-ray (violet) or a true blue laser. So I am super excited to see one in person!

This will fit in a standard aixiz, right? No need for a custom host?
