Flex Drive won't give 700mA for this blue diode, and no, you cannot use 2x lithium or lithium ion because you'll fry the driver.
Use one 18650 and MicroBoost driver, also from DRLava.

The Flexdrive V4 and V5 works just fine with this diode. I've got mine running at 760mA output @ 600mW. My old Flexdrive V3, however, could not produce enough output current.

BB your 760mA build did you use a test load first?

If so, is that the #'s your giving for the diode your running or are you measuring the current of the diode while in the unit.

I'm just wondering if the dummie load we are using is sufficient.

Edit: I'm also requesting anyone with a 445nm casio to post a macro if it or a lik to one can't seem to find one. THANK YOU IN ADVANCED.

I used a test load made for Blurays, made of six diodes (0.7V drop each) creating a 4.2V drop inline with a 1 ohm resistor for a total of 6 x 0.7V + 1ohm x 0.75A = 4.95V. If I were real picky, I could've removed one of the diodes, to make it ~4.2V, which is closer to the voltage needed for a 445nm, but it really doesn't matter. The Flexdrive will increase the voltage to the necessary levels, while maintaining the current setting; so even if the voltage drop of test-load is off, it will still more than likely work just fine. The test load I used ends up being an overestimation of the driver's operation. My laser's output at its current setting matches the curves I've seen for other 445nm builds.

On another note, I don't know if those diodes on my test-load were meant to handle that much current. When I powered it up I could smell something cooking on the board (the Flexdrive was just fine). So I just measured the current quickly and turned off the power as soon as possible.

i have a V5 putting out 810ma easily. as stated before. you can not use more than 5.5v. for the v5. i use 1- 3.7v 18650 batt. it works like a champ.

The OP should be kept up to date with all info if this is really going to be a "compilation" thread. There is a TON of good info. spread throughout these other posts, but it would be nice to have a quick reference post with just the specs.

Any more info on the diode? Is this one single mode diode, or more like a diode bar? Beam specs don't look so great.

Too much power for what I'm lookin' for, however it's nice to see these diodes finally dropping in price.

Neither. Well, it's technically single mode at low powers, but goes multimode as soon as you start turning the power up.

Was a fellow claiming he's running his at 1500ma heatsinked with a single 18650.

They are fairly hard to hold at the single mode state too, especially in a small pen sized host.
