Here she is. You'll notice the maxsink!

I had a few issues with the setup of the die4driver (HFP) but discovered that it needs a pulse of 5v to send the driver into full current mode.

So I played around to try and get 1A at 4.3vdc. ..
set the psu to 7.3vdc and put the analog signal through the dvr contact, instantly I got a reading of 1523mA and the most dazzling blue light beam I have ever seen. Amazing

Here is the output on some sticks.

Note, this laser is not directly connected to the driver, I put the laser head on a BNC connector so that I could change from A XJ 103 to an A XJ 104 head is a way of utilizing the driver more efficiently. The driver also has a real time current readout which can be read through a DMM as mV/mA.
Also this has a slow start.
BNC is a non-resistive type of BNC.

Can you post pics of your driver fully setup so we can get an idea of what these drivers are suppose to look like when properly setup?

You should try the latest Flexmod from drlava when it arrives toward the end of this month.. Pretty awesome new features including time-delayed start (can be disabled if preferred), awesome diode protection, 4A max output, 24V max input, extremely accurate modulation response and all on a nice tiny footprint.. They should be pretty amazing. DZ was able to cut a diode lead while in operation, resolder it (with the driver still powered), reset power to the driver and the diode came right back on after the 5-sec delay. Now THAT's a well protected diode.

Holy Smokes! And will it still fit in the back of an Aixiz after all that?

I'm referring to the flexMod not the flexdrive. The flexmod is for laser show use, it provides analog modulation capability. It's very small, but not quite small enough for an aixiz module.

It sounds like a nice build, (I can't view the video :cryyy: !), I like the BNC connector idea but I'm confused. Are the highlighted letters and numbers above the diodes or some other component? :thinking:

can you also post pics of what your using for a trigger?
also
any idea of what the flexmod v3 will cost?
i doubt itll be anywhere near the gb price of the die4drives
and you have to factor in the wait time to get your flexmod.

I'm not sure what the GB price for die4drives is, but it's really pretty much 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.. The prices aren't too different, the only real major advantage the new flexmod will have over other similar drivers is the advanced diode protection.

this Die4driver has reverse diode protection as well. It is more expensive than the flexmod.

trigger can be a separate 5v source such as a small battery or simply trigger the high power by using the dvr pad and tap the positive of your psu the result is the same as using a 5v external signal.
