Re: Goggles for 445nm

There seems to be two kinds of focalprice goggles, the bad ones (lets through more than they should), and the good ones (blocks every photon). I have the good kind and I'm very confident they will work with these lasers, as not the tinyest visible light got through with lower powers. I believe it's the kind O-like sells, and they rate it at >OD5.

I have this same ones, and I also suspect they'll work fine. That's why I created the thread :)

Re: Feeler: Protection goggles for new 445nm diodes

Hey guys... OEM got back to me with the discount... so I don't mistype something, I'm just going to paste the email they sent me:

I was given your request for group pricing regarding LPF. I used to post on LPF on a regular basis so I am familiar with group buys. We can offer the following volume discounts:

1 Unit: List Price
2-5 Units: 5% discount
6-10 Units: 7.5% discount
11-25 Units: 10% discount
26+ Units: 15% discount

These discounts will automatically be reflected if you choose to purchase online with the discount visible on the checkout page.

Now, with that said, I will do it one better if you can do 25 units or more. I will offer 20% discount for 25 units or more plus free shipping to whomever is in charge of the group buy. That person can handle the shipping to the individual buyers. Furthermore, all the units do not need to be ARG. You can order any filter with any frame style as long as you hit the 25 unit mark. Just be aware these will all be built on order so we cannot accept exchanges if someone orders the wrong item. What I am saying is to make sure what is ordered is what is wanted. The turnaround time for the build is 7 to 10 calendar days.

The ARG filter is an excellent filter and is ANSI Z.136 and CE EN207 rated with a very high VLT (visible light transmission). They are protective (OD7+) for any and all wavelengths out to and including 532nm. It is the filter we use in our lab. If the OD rating is too high we can offer lower ratings depending on the wavelength. If you are curious about what filters are available for 445nm, enter 442nm or 447nm (these are the systems we offer) wavelength into the search box on our site and include the word “goggles” after the wavelength.

So what do you guys think... can we 25 people interested in buying some of their protective eyewear? I know I would be in for aleast a few pair myself.

How many are you looking for? We normally supply medical and universities with these so they are high end. Will try to make a deal.

So we would be looking at $62.56 (assuming 20%) for the goggles plus about $5 shipping. Some discount is better than none on some great goggles. If we could get the 20% I would probably be in, because I would want some better goggles for my other nm lasers and future buys.

By the way this was a total thread jack, but for a good cause.

I didn't realize I had thread jacked... sorry mfo! Hopefully we can get enough people to go in and get the 25 unit mark. Since they can be any filter, not just lenses used for 445nm I'm hoping we can get there.

No, this is AixIZ

Nice to meet you! I saw the glasses hakzaw1 posted of yours... they look incredible! Me personally, I'm looking at getting 4 or so. If we could manage to get 25 units sold... what kind of a price could you offer?

Re: Feeler: Protection goggles for new 445nm diodes

Hey extelon, if you can get that deal from OEM, please open up a general goggle GB in the GB section. Even if you're not willing to run it, someone else probably is. At 20% off, people would love to be able to get $30 off a pair of ML7s or other goggles in addition to ones that can do 445nm. That's about the same deal that I got for mine when Hemlock Mike (I think it was him) set up a previous GB. I would definitely be interested in such a GB for 445nm goggles.

I don't think I'm interested. They seem too strong for these diodes. But hey, if everyone else is then by all means.

They can be any glasses... even the AL3's that have an OD rating of 3+
