Ive got a 445nm diode UP AND RUNNING!!!!!
Just got it in today, thanks to mariomaster!! So I dont have a flex in for this yet, so I used a rkcstr for now, but plan to tear down my lcc chrome pckt mini and build it with this baby!

As of now, I have it set in an aixiz with a jayrob G1, placed in a flaminpyro maxsink! Rckstr is maxed out! I have tested it under 473nm on my LPM 1 and got 198mW but I suspect it is closer to 300mW, compared to the graphs.
The dot is a rectangular square shape, it can be focused with a G1 very well to the point where it is a almost unnotciable difference from single mode. I imagine that I can get an even better beam if I push the diode past 'flush' in the module. Its a beutiful color, looks closer to violet than you'd think, it flourecences things as well and will light up GITD. Side by side it makes 473nm look teal!!!
Pics or it didnt happen right? Here she is!!!

445nm is in the middle, 405nm on the right, 473nm on the left:

These pics have the camera looking 'down' the beam towards the laser, not the dot, made a better beam shot!

Next to 473nm:

Ive gotta go to work shortly so I will do more with it tomorrow, I hope to have it in a portable build by the end of the week, with a flex set to atleast 600mA!!!!!!
I am so happy to be part of this history that we are making here!!!

*picks jaw off floor* DAMN!!! Maxsinks are like $45 right? I think that's what I'll do. Post pics when you have it built in the mini.

Awesome pics!

Can't wait for mine, I just finished up my labby and all it needs is a diode.

Thanks alot guys!!! Hope yours get in soon! I have another coming in from GB3 but just had to have one asap!! Ill be posting more pics along the way, im just getting started with this beauty, btw color is amazing, nice dark blue!

@jellcrab- the maxsink is like $25 shipped in the USA, if he is still selling them, he mentioned to me something about hanging on to the rest, just PM him, he's a great guy!!

I think most of the forum is in concensus at this point... We hate you :p. Well someones gotta ask... How's the burning??? :D

kingdave great post! i still cant +rep u :undecided: i want to so bad!

compared to ur 473, which has a more visible beam? :p

Does make you wish you had yours sooner...I'll get mine Wednesday probably...But I wont have a host/driver for it yet xD Pictures are sure making me want the laser built sooner.

Lol, thanks guys:D

I heard they ran hot, so I figured the maxsink would be a good first try, lol.
It burns like a beast and isnt even at a focal point, didnt try a balloon, but it sliced through electro tape like butter:D

It makes 473nm look teal, but 445nm is by far brighter than the 473nm but that is because of power, very visible color and beam!!! A win the whole way around!!:D

I will post updates and a new better beam shot I just took when I get back from work!

Sounds good! Don't forget to put it in your signature. I know your itchin to show it off :p

Maybe i missed it, but did you tell us what power your pumping? Burning ability sounds amazing. Sometime try some other things, with it focused. Like wood burning...It's always fun to write stuff in wood! I wrote my name 1x8" bold with a bluray once on a scrap peace of wood :)

*whistles* Videos are always...cool :P

Thanks for letting how it compares to 473nm & 405nm & for the pics!
