I am attempting to figure out a 445nm build

what do you think of my ideas.

A140 Diode
This driver set to 1 amp
2 x CR123 batteries
Cree Aurora Host with jayrob heatsink
AixiZ module with glass 405nm lens

What do you think

you're making your own host? i would recommend the 18650 host instead, I understand most prefer them to the CR123s. personally i also prefer the 445 aixiz lense, slightly less power but better shape dot and In these pointers power isnt exactly a problem. 1A sounds good. Dont know much about that driver but most are using flex drives or boost drives, either seems good for <1.5A. Copper heatsink could be a good upgrade.

I am using a cree host designed for a 18650 and putting two CR123's instead. I was going to use the 405 lens because I have an extra but I may look into the 445.

Below is a pic of the host I am going to use I have an extra and a quick vid of my maglight laser vs my cree laser

I was worried about the flex overheating I have an extra do think it would be a better idea?

2 X CR123's will need a silicon diode to drop voltage. The FlexDrive (or Micro BoostDrive) takes 5.5 volts max input voltage...

But it is not a good idea to do this with this build. An 18650 will have much more capacity than 2 X CR123's in series...

Edit: Oh... sorry, I see that you are using a different driver... Curious how it works out!

Has anyone used this driver?

Any ideas?

Lots of people are telling me the V5 is the way to go and I have an extra. I think I may just find a nice way to heatsink it and go from there.

Also any clue what the converter in the Aurora flashlight puts out for mAs?
