Default 445 diodes expected life

Hi i was looking around in the forum about the expected life of 445 diodes but i couldnt find a thread about it. So i was wondering ive seen in companies sites that they say the diode will last fr about 5000 hours, so i wanted to know around what mw would this be posible, lets say with a a140 at what power would it yied its maxium life?. Thank you in advance for your time.

BTW im asking this for one single purpose, i want a laser so i wanted to know which would be the best mw/life ratio out there for some blue laser thank you.

I think manufactures rated at 1W for 5,000 hrs but I may be wrong so don't quote me on that, or maybe it was 5,000 hours at 1A? IOno but I do believe it is 1W or 1A. so a 1W laser at 5,000 hours would be a pretty good mW/life ratio eh?

yea it would be a great ratio if it is true, on another thought could we get a longer life in one of those running on lower power? after all not everyone needs a "supper frrigin burrning laser" after all.

yep, plenty of people run them much lower, 300-5/6/700mA for 2-500mW isn't shabby at ALL!

They actually claim 20,000 hours in the projector.(doubt you would actually get this since their warranty is only for 6000 hours) I believe it runs @ 1A in the A140.

Even if you got only 200 hours 1/100th of their claim you could run it for 15-20 minutes a day for two years.

from what I read they are run around 600mA in the Casio. I have the spec sheet right here that I printed off stonetek after purchasing mine but its a Engineering Sample specs so no lifetime... Just dont allow overheating and she should last!
