Hands, q-tips, microfiber lint free cloth, isopropyl alcohol... do one side, and then do the other side

Okay, the Q-Tip procedure worked. But now, when I put the focusing lense on, I get this halo around the dot. It isn't bright at all, and I can still see the beam in a lit room, but I don't know. I don't remember if this was there before (I was too excited to care). I couldn't get a good picture, but it looks like this:

A halo isn't the best description since it doesn't surround the whole beam, but only the sides. Should I just buy another focusing lense?

Oh... so it's normal. Well, if I don't like it, what lense should I replace it with? Also, the lense wobbles, which is kind of annoying. :tired:

You should always replaced the lens with a glass lens in a metal barrel. The standard Aixiz lens are made of plastic and will melt under high-power blue.
If the lens wobbles then you can place a layer of teflon tape around the thread.
It will act as a filling between the barrel and the module.

The lense is in a metal barrel, and I think it is glass. I'll have to ask Joe to be sure, though.

Yes it is. Its a standard 3 element glass 405 lens. I wouldn't sell a laser high power blue with a plastic lens! :tinfoil:
