I'd say he's certainly overstating his mw's but everything else looks legit i.e. quality builds, reasonable prices IMHO. I might take my chances and I could send it to someone on here for measurement .

Don't support these bad business practices, there are lots of other reliable sellers such as Blord.

The clue in this thread is not buy a new laser is how this laser produces this output in this video.
You can see that the LPM is set to 0 before and after the measure and this model of LPM has auto calibration. What is the trick to go over 3.5W?

Never seen 3.5A current running though a 9mm diode. The diodes dim long before that current.
And 3 Watt is very hard to reach with a 9mm diode. Only the very efficient ones can hold that power output.

1-Driver 5 Switch Modes: Strong Brightness/Normal Brightness/weak Brightness/Flashing /SOS
Looks like he is using a standard LED-driver for his high power lasers.

That is why I post the thread, finding possible explanations to this hard to believed output.;)

Yeah and most all lpms have a calibration pot on them so he probable messed with it to have it show more power that what it actually makes. Even ophir heads have them but you won't catch me messing with it

I only know about LPMs turns it on and take measures with it. But if you damage the calibration with the pot the LPM can’t set stable to zero?

You can messed the LPM with gain pot and still have zero at start up.

Yeah what blord said. The seller is a bs'er plain and simple. If he wasn't e would be a god around here and everyone would own his lasers. Kinda like blord!

Also like I and others pointed out he's doing a laser test in freezing cold temps which wound not be optimum for an accurate reading.

Hmmm... He has quite a lot of vids posted with some real effort put into them I think he is def a member here or at PL.

He doesn't seem like the type of guy that would fit into the PL crowd.

I can add a little bit to his credibility. Before I joined LPF I bought my first M140 from him, and I talked with him on the phone for some troubleshooting. He was helpful and seemed knowledgeable. I would entertain the possibility that it might be a very very very rare diode, or that he unknowingly is getting incorrect measurements.

I purchased my first laser from this seller, wasn't very happy with it if im honest had taped wires and a dry solder and defonatley under spec.

I've known Rick for quite some time, I believe Clif knows him as well. I normally speak to him over the phone and sell him mohgasm boards in bulk. He's always come across as a very honest guy.
I'm sure there is the possibility that the LPM needs calibration, but I really don't think he'd intentionally lie about the output of the lasers. I do know he bins every diode and uses "G" lenses to get the highest output on his lasers.

I know last time we spoke he seemed surprised and excited about the outputs he was getting from some of his 9mm diodes. I couldn't comment much because I hadn't kept up to date on 9mm 455 diodes....
