I can't wait to see the test from the guy that got a 3w 445nm from me he told me he would post a video soon ! But he does not have a g1 just a 3 element lens but that would let use know a lot :pop:

I have put in a good 2 element lens and it dropped it around 2.7W I would love to get 3w with a 3 element lens it would make a nice spot on a target! :lasergun:

Also, rick, do you know what makes the 3 element lenses have nicer spots? I wonder if whatever it is could be integrated into one of your T style lenses

The three element lenses are a longer focal length lens so they somewhat pinhole the output a bit giving a smaller line when focused but downside is the light outside of the circle in the depiction below is lost. Single element lenses are short focal length and get close enough to the diode to gather all the light.:beer:

@ Ricktrent4 I have been following this thread from the beginning and I must say your work is very impressive!

I do have a question though...at the start you said you ran your diodes at 3.5 A, which started a lot of the conjecture. Since you showed your results the question has been glossed over, so I was wondering if this was a misprint or whether you do actually run them that high? Cheers:beer:

It was not him that stated the diodes were ran at 3.5A it was erroneously reported by someone else. He has said several times that the actual current that the diodes are ran at is 2.5A.

No problem. I actually went off and believed it myself and it was most of the reason I didn't believe a word of what he said originally.

yes I did ship out your kit and it max out dtr LPM. if you have LPM I would like to see what you get!

I think since rick is back we should bury this thread. it has run it's course.

rick as a suggestion could you please open a thread about your builds, then maybe we could get some order in their proper sub categories e.g. diffent builds, currents settings, lenses, sales questions.

I feel this would be better for most folks, there is ALOT of jumping around and it just getting a bit convoluted.

This is just a suggestion. What do you think?

I would rather save my welcome back in a thread that didn't start off like a rick pinata part.

Just my 2cents for your 25.

Give it some time. Depending on what mods are awake/online, it can take a while for a FS thread to get approved. If it's not up within 24 hours, send a mod a message.

I didn't want to put this in your FS thread Rick but I'm worried your site may go the way of survival lasers if your not careful. Looks good though :)

Rick, I'm still awaiting response on selling a single bare T1 to me. I really want to test one out but I want to use a DTR barrel.
