Hi All,

here now my, at the moment, strongest Selfmade Laser with aktiv cooling system :beer: For the Housing i used a full Aluminium Hand-Gas-Pump which used in the industry to locate dangerous chemicals in low concentration. The M140 LD is mounted in a cooper Heatsink with the M9x0,5 Fine thread like in the Aixiz Moduls for Collimator Lenses and fixed in the Aluminium-Head of the Pump.
The piston of the pump was modified to insert a 12V-fan and the bottom-cap was milled to fix the fan and close the Tube. The Alu-Head was drilled around the Lens...so the cold Air is cooling the Diode and the Driver behind. The Driverboard is selmade with a LM317 and Alu-Heatsink, the Poti-Resistor is designed for a output current of 1400mA, so the Power can controled from Zero to 1,4A :) The Voltage Source is a 2S-LiPo (7,4V)with 5200mAh and 30C, the Fan startet with connecting the LiPo, the output over the 2-way-switch (on)-out-on.....that`s it. One hour non-stop burning is without problems

Hi crazyspaz,

sorry, i can`t find any informations about duty-cycle on the Datasheet and the websuite of the producer...... maybe 150KHz......but not sure.

A1W Bestückung Entwicklung Fertigung- Professionelle Elektronik ( HKO1500 )

I`m not Profesional with Electronic.....the mechanical side tends to be my strength.....but i learn every day a little bit more :thinking:

Ah maybe I should have specified- when the term "duty cycle" is used with lasers, it refers to the run time based on heat-- for example, 60 seconds on, 30 seconds off. I would imagine yours can run continuously as there is plenty of cooling :)

This definitely sounds better than mine! I thought he would of known what I meant! Ha

Hi,

ok.....good to know.......in some other situations meens Duty-cycle the frequency :whistle:

And......it`s a Full-Time-Laser :drool::drool::drool:
.....An hour ago i used this Laser for branding a picture on wood...... 45 min. non-stop ;) ...but we have here at the moment about 38°C and the Laser is allso hotter as normal....but still ok :D:D:D

The Fan is a 12V version and the max. DC of the LiPo is 8,4Volt .... so the Fan was not the full power. It was my first Air-cooled-Laser, the next one will be much better and is at work with other mounting of the Collimator, Power-fan and the 9mm NDB7875 445nm Laserdiode.

regards.....Raveman
