Thought I would just update this post since it has become a complete laser. Some nice video of the beam etc. ---

Nothing beats a nice Ehgemus host! Was getting kind of tried of all the cheap dx hosts I had. So I contacted Harold and told him exactly what I wanted. This host has a massive 32650 “FeiLong”. That mean its is 32 mm dia and 650mm long Li-Ion. Thing is I wanted two head plates since I would be using this with both a 9mm diode and a M140. Harold was a pleasure to work with! About a week later I got a packet here in Sweden.

As far as fit and polish. All I can say is … WOW!

The only part missing was the boost.

Despite the fact that there was a hurricane ripping lazeerer house apart he found the time to mill a massive heatsink and make the perfect boost for this laser. His work is amazing! Big :thanks:

The quality and detail is incredible. Love the clicky!

The day before hurricane Sandy hit his house he managed to get it sent off back to Sweden. There is also a nice little copper heatsink on the boost IC chip to boot =) I got to admit I am impressed with his work and I take it he is not much of a coffee drinker! Here is a picture I took. You can see the heatsink behind the x-boost drive in this photo.

Pressing in the M140 with Pyros kick ass press.

Inspecting that the diode is flush in the seat with a little Arctic Silver 5.

Soldering the leads from the X-Boost to the M140. Looking nice ;)

And how could I forget the beam shots ;)

G2 Lens. Using Lazereer's X-Boost. Drops from 2.4Watts to about 2.34W after about about 90 seconds. After about 3 min stabilizes at about 2.2Watts. No smoke was used in this video. Not sure if the Camera in my Samsung S3 is just very sensitive to the laser. The light also looks much bluer then what is seen in the video.

All the best

Oh no doubt about the Ehgemush hosts!

I have been playing around with a bunch of lenses lately. True the G lenses have a lot more power output but I have to admit I really like the beam/dot with the o-like 405/450nm laser coated collimation glass lens and DTRs glass lenses. It would seem these collimation are clipping the beam though?!. I was wondering if there are collimation lenses with a bigger diameter? Could be worth a try?

Has anybody tried a wider diamater collimation lens setup?

BTW :thanks: for the rep
