I'm looking to buy a 445 laser and am considering buying the Survival Laser 1. But was wondering if it would be better to buy a laser from a member. Max price would be around $200 since I don't have glasses, batteries or charger but around $280 if those were included. With my budget would it just be easier to buy the Survival Laser?

Gary (Garoq) from Survival Laser is a member, but I may be misunderstanding your question.

I guess what I'm wonderingis would it be a better deal to buy a custom built laser from a member, not one commercially sold. Or to buy the laser from Survival Lasers.

Survival Lasers quality is nice, and they have high powered 445s.
Some shops (dinodirect, lazerer) sell 1.2W blue lasers for pretty cheap.

Thanks, I think I'm going to buy the Survival Laser I since this is my first higher powered laser, I have several ~50mw lasers.

Go for the Survival Laser. Those are nice. Make sure you get good goggles.
