Re: Sipik HK21 18650 hosts + 405/445nm and 650nm lenses

I already am sold out heh. I guess I should have waited until the next batch got here before announcing it, but i'm broke :p The sale of the first three is financing the next batch after the 10 I already ordered weeks ago. Hopefully those show up soon. I don't really like telling people I don't have them right now. Especially after DTR's review. I'm going to order another 20 before the weekend's over. Hopefully the 10 incoming will last until they get here but since 4 of the incoming ones are tentatively spoken for, I somehow doubt they'll last that long. :/

I am however cranking out more heatsinks, Mostly AL since I have some copper ones already made.. so once the hosts do show up, it won't take long for me to get them salable. hopefully the freaking flashlight design won't change on me. I started chopping up slugs for focus rings tonight.

Re: Sipik HK21 18650 hosts + 405/445nm and 650nm lenses

Please update my order to a copper heatsinked one.. i just realise a very nooby thing... the focus head is still silver with copper heatsinked... I always assumed that the cone head was part of the heat sink...

Could you also elaborate what exactly are the differences between the 2 host? or are they design options purely based on the outlook as seen in the picture with no other price difference what so ever.

I would be really really good also if you are able to provide a full laser set up offer as well or as least the parts to assemble one so that people living too far away from all the excitement are able to save a little on time waiting and shipping cost... This point may also be useless for your sales as it is going way too good but it would be really nice for people like me :)

Re: Sipik HK21 18650 hosts + 405/445nm and 650nm lenses

Updated. And the focus rings are all AL. I could do them in copper but copper tarnishes pretty fast under fingerprints. Brass is an option as well, but I think I tri-color build might look kind of odd. heh.

And the only difference between the two hosts is the material the actual heatsink is made out of. Otherwise they're identical. The price increase for the copper ones is merely due to the fact that copper is almost 10x the price of aluminum. Around $40/ft for 1" OD copper rod stock vs $4/ft for 1" aluminum.

In the future I plan to carry more components.. But nobody realizes I'm flat broke ATM heh. I started this endeavor with around $200 to put in it, and 100% of the profits go back into buying more parts.. So the more stuff I sell, the more stuff i'll eventually be able to carry.

Oh no its prefect the way it is... What i meant was i thought the heatsinking and focus ring is made out of copper at first... But i realise later that the focus ring will still be aluminum even thought the heatsink is copper and this is exactly what i want.. I just love the silver shiny look... Its a pity you just started, anyways money will come in soon dont worries... just dont forget me! thanks :)

Ok. Good news and bad news people.

Good news first. The first 10 hosts finally showed up. And I also finished this batch of focus rings. These things are actually a PITA and take longer to make than the heatsinks themselves do. Heh. My kingdom for a turret tailstock on this lathe :p

The bad news. While the hosts showed up, the tripods didn't. These hosts don't actually come with the tripods themselves so I have to order them seperate. I'd figured the tripods would have beat the lights but it didn't work out that way.

The other bad news is that I don't really have time to do much with anything until I finish my taxes. So it'll likely be this weekend before I'm able to get back to finishing up the last of the work on the rest of the heatsinks.

 these are really nice, there are so much things on lpf i would like to buy but when it comes to money i dont have much

Just waiting till my next b'day :bday: :D

I would buy 3 if i was rich but Noooooo, also i dont got my own PP account :D
gotta use my dads which i wont ever use again... My dad bought me $300 dollars of stuff and he wont let me pay him back... i know i know my dads awesome but i didnt expect him to pay for it all...

anyway back to your hosts :D, good job on them especially since their finned, its like a mini portable labby :)

do you have any idea how long you will have these in stock for? when those
4 Watt 445nm diodes and those 750mw 445nm single modes come out i "Might" buy one but im not sure i love these hosts alot :D

Btw those plastic lenses are pretty awesome, have you tried them with a 405nm laser? i would like to see the results since the AR coating is "Claimed" to work on 405

Have a good week :)

Re: Sipik HK21 18650 hosts + 405/445nm and 650nm lenses

Your lenses should be there today Jake. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't show up saturday.

I would have liked to have finished all the machining on the rest of the heatsinks so I could ship hosts out the next day once the tripods show up, but it seems like once a week I have to rebuild something on my ancient lathe. Unfortunatly this weekends issue, which ate up pretty much all day sunday, was rebuilding the cross slide since the threading feed quit working properly, and I was doing the threading at the time. bleah.

But on the good side, I didn't have to order parts this time heh, it was just 50 years of funk that needed to be cleaned.

I'll post another update when I have one.. Which will likely either be that the tripods are here, all the machining is done, or... preferably.. both.
