yeah was a totally bone headed move on my part. my car ran itself out of oil and in my irateness i wasnt thinking clearly and in troubleshooting i was going to check to see if there was oil in the coolant... which taking the radiator cap off is usually a bad move on a hot car.

it wasnt the cap that got me it was the 200f coolant that was under pressure behind it.

Mm. That's harsh... so I take it that it wasn't only your hand that got burnt? Or am I terribly misunderstanding you? Because I would think a coolant under pressure would result in explosive decompression and spray everywhere.

Anyway, I hope it's not serious and you will be back at the lathe quickly!

i got it in the face too but not bad. Face just kind of feels like mild sunburn. it's the sides and back of my right hand that's the worst and is going to be one big blister come tomorrow.

it's illegal to import whole laser pointers, not to build them yourselves. Also, the restrictions, at least in the US, are only pertaining to pointers. labbys and other OEM lasers aren't restricted. Also, pointers over 5mW are legal here so long as they have the appropriate safety features and have FDA approval.

Bought one of his short 18650 hosts. Came 4 days later and he provided a tracking #. Nice stuff, smaller then I expected but this is my first host. Only complaint is the push button on the host isn't of the highest quality but that isn't in anyway qumefox's fault nor is too relevant. Thanks for the host. Will show some pics once my build is finished! :)

Hmm. Your switch is messed up too? I test the lights before I modify them. I've caught some bad switches but it looks like there are still problems happening down the road. I'll just have to start testing them after the lights are cut down as well I guess. This is the third complaint i've had so I might even have to just try and source different switches if it becomes much worse.

qumefox, this is still one of the most awesome hosts on the forum, and at a great price!

Yeah, the switch issue was a setback, but I'm still just looking at my awesome little laser, and waiting on a glass lense to show up so I can start playing with it.

And, you fixed the switch and returned it in like a day, far faster than I ever expected!

OK, yeah I'm a wimp and should have just got a new switch and fixed it myself, but those little buggers ar a bitch, and after an hour or so of messing with it I had enough and was ready to chuck the thing out my window.

I've now got an awesome laser, well I will as as the damn glass lenses show up from Aixiz, and I've got you to thank for it.

Take your time and heal your burns before trying to jump back into it, and remember radiator caps on hot engines aren't your friend. :)

You do know the lenses I sell are the exact same thing as aixiz sells right? heh. I'll have to dig up my test sheet to post the actual numbers but I ordered some of the current ones from aixiz and tested them when I ordered the last batch of modules and they performed identically.. Within 10mW of each other.. which is nothing considering I was testing them at 900mW and I expected more difference actually simply due to coating inconsistencies.

They look identical, they perform identically, and i'm sure they're likely from the same manufacturer.. Mine just have less markup since i'm sure I have far less overhead than them.
