jaspernl;

If the driver used is a low-drop-out type . . .

then you will only get a few hundred milliwatts.

If you bypass the driver altogether . . .

you will get ~600 mw, like my direct drive 445 build.

LarryDFW,

Thanks for your answer. But I don't exactly know what you mean, sorry my english is not that good. But the survival lasers website says the driver is ''a 1.25A current regulated buck driver''. Don't know if this means it's a low-drop-out type?

Thanks

Larrys correct, with 2 cr123's you'll get the full 1.1-1.3W

With a single 18650 you will get around 200 mW In your survival laser

My batteries arrived today. My first thought was, wow these are heavy. They were already charged to 4.16v and 4.17v. I have to say, these are very nice batteries. I will definitely consider buying more in the future.
@LarryDFW, your pictures show the tops of the batteries as if no tabs were installed. Mine have a little metal disk soldered onto the tops and bottoms as if tabs used to be installed but were broken off. They aren't a huge deal but what would be the easiest way to remove these?

I would not remove the nickel covers.

All of the new cells I sell have connecting nickel straps, which I carefully trim off.

They protect the ends, and add strength to prevent spring damage.

I have used them both ways,

and the cells with nickel covers stand up to "spring denting" better.

I've been buying lasers and flashlights all month. It's time to get a couple of batteries too.

Larry, I just ordered a couple of the "LG" cells and a charger.
