Hi, everyone.
To DWells, I still have stock, but by default I don't provide tracking. You can upgrade shipping to tracked and recorded, but it is quite expensive - an additional £4.20 (GBP). I can send any way you want as long as Royal Mail offer it. As for hosts, I have personally used a Pocket Pal build with a custom made heatsink, and a Dorcy Jr from Dark_Horse, but for this you generally use a LavaDrive instead. You ahould have a look at what JayRob offers - his 3405 builds are quite common, and are probably compatible with the Rkcstr driver (though don't quote me on that!). PM me any time you are interested in buying.

To Spaceman, as you can see, I still need a few more people to express interest before I offer modules with drivers. Are you OK to wait for however long it takes to get 8/10 people interested in buying?

Diode is working great!!

I'm running mine at ~138mA and measured ~125mW with a Coherent FieldMaster.

Hi there. I would be interested in the full module with driver setup please. I live in Dorset UK - postcode BH19 1LH. I dont check in here every day but would purchase as soon as you can offer them. I will check back every few days. Thanks. Sounds like an excellent deal. Best wishes, Zelig....

Hi - I have added you to my list. Just 2 or 3 more people, and I will order the drivers.

Thanks. I will see if I can get my company interested as well. We run a large sound light co. What do you think the best output to diode lifetime I could get out of these - at what mA? Am looking to test them with a laser array (And probably a hand held for myself.)
Thanks again. Best wishes , Zelig........

It depends what kind of cooling you have - a rule of thumb is that 85mA with good cooling will last thousands of hours, but anything over around 110-130mA will die in tens to hundreds of hours. I would suggest 125mA with good heatsinking and a duty cycle imposed. Each diode is unique, however, so what may last for years for one diode may kill another after a few hours or less.

Because they're so cheap currently, I run my handheld at around 150mA - if it dies, I will just replace the diode. To me that extra burning power is worth the reduced lifespan it may have.

Charlie,

Did you get my PM? I am interested in modules with drivers. Check your PM for details.

I'm sorry, but I haven't received any PMs from you. How many would you be interested in?

Thanks for the transaction, I returned the rep. To anyone interested in a module, I should be ordering before too long. According to Rkcstr's site:

Anyway, at the moment, it doesn't look like I'll be selling any drivers starting tomorrow like I may have said. This is because I've unexpectedly run out of PCBs that I can use for the drivers. I'm currently talking to a manufacturer about getting the drivers factory assembled and have been waiting to hear back on an estimate. The good news is that I MAY have PCBs soon if the manfacturer is able to make more for the assembly. I hope to know sometime this week and will update this page when I have more information.

Just to verify (I'm very much a noob in the laser scene), this is a Blu-Ray laser diode, right? One that I could use in building the laser described in this tutorial?
If so, I would be very much interested in purchasing just the diode.

Yes, this is a blu-ray diode, like the one found in the guide. I'll send you a PM with details.

Charlie, Put me down for 4. I sent you a PM, but I think my account is screwed up or something. See if you get the PM. I ccd myself, and I got a copy, so I know it sent.

I got your message. As soon as Rkcstr's site says that he is back in stock, I will be ordering the drivers and soldering them. Once I have completed a few I will PM people in the order that they asked.

Please refer to the first post for updated information, including my safety notice!

No, you should see rkcstr's site, and check my first post with updated information, the upshot of which is that I need a few days to look into my legal liability on importing these to the US. Rkcstr's site is http://rkcstr.nfshost.com
