Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

wow im wondering why no one wants in on any of these. well i'll be the first to reserve 2 lpc-826, 1 a140 445, and 1 bdr-s06j.

what are you referring to when you say "possibly 445 diodes for 46 ea." are these not the 445 A140's you are selling for 40 at the end of the thread?

Are the LPC-826, the ones with the longer dies? They are rated for 300-350mW right?

Yes, longer die, (I should post a pic), these I believe are rated 300mW or a bit higher. I hope and think we will get more info. soon on the LPC-826. I definitely want to get a couple... -Glenn

Hi,
Roughly how much would international (to Malaysia) shipping cost?
Thanks a bunch,

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

cmon folks, 300mW should be a conservative figure for these lpc-826 diodes seeing as the die is much bigger than the lpc-815. its visibly larger. jump on this so we can get a GB going. im dreaming of hopefully 0.5W of red with a 650-g1 ::fingers crossed::

I think the $6.5 was likely the shipping and PP fees? -Glenn

Are you confusing a picture comparing a lpc-826 to a lpc-822 maybe?

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

I think the 826s have been tested to do ~250 to 300 with a cheap lens, so potentially 350? with a better lens.

Not 0.5W, but still better than an 815 :)

Yep - I'll even sacrifice (potentially) one on video with an LPM to see where we can hit with a red glass lens.

ahhh thats what it is... i was thinking it might be too good to be true but after checking back yea...thats what it was... the lpc-822 had the really short die compared to the 826... made me drool for no reason...dang it. when will a class 4 single mode red be available :yabbmad:!!!

Most likely never. DVD is now an 'old' technology, and DVD burners are >95% of the high power single mode 660nm diode market. Not many people in the industry have reason to pump lots of money into lots of R&D to push the envelope more as far as power since there is very little market for much faster drives. Plus I believe that they are getting up against the spindle speed barrier as well as far as disc stability.

It will take a new expansive market for even higher power single mode reds before anyone puts much money in the development, and the display market (projectors, etc) are generally fine with multi mode lasers.
