Finally was able to get all the parts needed to start the next batch for assembly. Shipped to the assembler couple days ago, with 2-3 week leadtime. So, I expect to have more stock mid to late March. There are still some available, but only around 50 left and they're going quick. So, if you don't think you can wait a few weeks, get your order in soon!

HOLY DRIVER!!!!

rkcstr,
Hey I have a question I have several of your V3s I'm using two 3.6v/2200maH High Energy lithium batteries the highest output with the pot maxed was 2.8v\340maH. I need 420 - 450 maH for LOC diodes, Is it possible I have somewhat damaged drivers or is my supply voltage insufficent? I purchased a "dummy load" with the drivers and tried several also the maH varied with the pot adjustment and I used a new multimeter.
Any help is appreciated I'm a newblit beginner! And does anybody have an eyepatch? :banghead:

Thanks in advance!
Lase on! and Blaze on!

Switched battery type and its working fine! I used 3.7v 900maH instead of the 3.6 2200maH! These are awsome little drivers!

Drivers are sold out!

The assembler said they expect to ship out before 3/23/10. They say 2-3 week lead time, which would put it at 3/15-3/23 being shipped to me.

In the mean time, for the next week, I'm offering an extra 10% discount on the drivers for Pre-sale. Whether you buy them now or when they come in, you'll get them at the same time, but you'll save money buying them now.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Dang, I was hoping that wouldn't happen, Oh well. Throw me down for 2 of those bad boys. Does this make it a total of 20% off pre-sale?

Yeah, I was hoping this wouldn't happen too. Unfortunately there is a massive shortage of some of the parts... took me almost a month to find and collect enough. Fortunately, it seems like there should only be about a 2 week window where I won't have any.

As for discount, yeah, the 10% off coupon is good for these, so you'll get 20% off effectively.

And, if you're really in need, I have some "defective" drivers I'd sell. Common defects are the IC is raised slightly off the board (should be functional), shorts between the IC legs and/or MOSFET/cap (may just need shorts removed or IC repositioned) or missing components (pot or a cap or two, which I'd include replacements). I've sold them for for $6 each or 3 for $15 in the past (plus $2.50 shipping), if you'd be interested.

Cool, I think I'll just preorder a couple new ones. How does the discount work? Let me know a total and I'll send you some clams.

First 10% is already in the price on the site. Just enter "LPF" in the "Discount Code" box during checkout and it will take the extra 10% off.

Good news! The newly assembled drivers were shipped today from the assembler. I expect to receive them on Tue or Wed of next week, then get them shipped out to all of you likely the next day (or by the end of the week).

So, since the Pre-sale is still going, you can basically purchase the drivers at an extra discount with very little wait. The sale ends Monday, then normal prices are started again.

There's a minor upgrade to the driver that will start shipping out now:

Previously the max input voltage was limited to 12V, a limitation of the polarity protection. However, I sourced a new component which allows that limit to go up to 15V. What does that mean? You can use 3x lithium batteries at full-charge with no worry.

However, to note, I don't suggest using higher voltage just because you can. These boards already run hot at lower voltages, so adding more voltage will just make them run even hotter and possibly overheat. So, I still suggest keeping voltage as low as possible, but now you won't have to worry about the higher voltage limit.

You know when you find the socks at a thrift store that say "irregular" and you get them cheaper? Well, same kind of thing here:

Get some "irregular" drivers here for $8 each!

Why so cheap? Because they're either ugly or they need a little TLC (maybe both).

Common things wrong:
-Lifted regulator IC, 1-2mm off PCB -- should function just fine, merely cosmetic, but it may impact fitting in tight spaces. Reseating the IC would fix it, but is not necessary.
-Missing component(s) -- may be missing a part or two, which replacement(s) will be included. Solder on and done.
-Out of place component -- just needs unsoldered and moved into place, or if makes proper contact with pads, may not need anything.
-Regulator IC is shifted off the pads and may be shorted to nearby components -- requires reseating by removing the IC and resoldering it. Can be tough with a low watt iron. New IC included to make for easier removal of the original (you can just cut the legs and heat the big pad to get it off).

Buy 1 for $8
Buy 2 for $15
Buy 3 for $21
Buy 4 for $26
Buy 5 for $30

I have 13 total right now. So, first PM, first serve. Just PM me with how many you want and I'll give you the total, which can be sent via Paypal. Shipping is $2.50 in US/Canada, $3.00 elsewhere for First-Class Shipping. Payment expected within 1 day of request or your order is forfeit.

EDIT: For orders of 2 or more, shipping is FREE to the US, $3 for Priority Mail. International orders add $1.50 for First Class International, $11 for Priority International, $25 for Express (EMS) shipping.
