Sorry, error based on terms of the website design. My idea of an expiration date assumes the day something expires still counts as an "active" day, however my website assumes that the specified "expiration date" is when it becomes inactive, so it essentially stopped the sale on 6/22.

Anyway, it was corrected, so it is active again. Sorry for the mistake.

Oh, and also, my website bases the day/time off of my server's time, which is GMT, or about 4 hours faster than EST, so the sale will end at 12am GMT instead of EST (which means it will end about 8pm EST tomorrow). If you can't get it in by then, get your order in by 12AM EST and I'll refund the extra amount if you PM or email me (you HAVE to let me know!).

I might be buying more of these, but I don't know if my schedule allows time for building or if my budget can withstand the cost. How many of the 400 adj/ 100 preset you sent out for manufacturing have already been presold? Will you have some on hand in the future?

Keep up the great work!

I'm assuming you're talking kits? The amounts you refer to are how much PCBs of the old style driver PCBs I had left. Right now, the kits that are being sold are for the old style until I can sell them up and they're being offered at pretty large discount compared to before. I'm low on parts for them right now, but will have more soon and still have at least a couple hundred left of the adj and most of the fixed.

However, once I sell them, I will start offering the new style driver for the kits, but for a higher price (still lower than previous, though). So, there will be no shortage of kits, or even assembled drivers, since I'm having plenty of those made as well.

ALSO! I finally bought a domain! So, my website can be accessed by the old address (http://rkcstr.nfshost.com) or the new one, www.rkcstr.com!

No assembled fixed current drivers. I still have some of the PCBs, but I'm not assembling them myself, just selling them for kits.

You need around 2.25V more than the diode's voltage. It all depends on how much voltage the diode draws at the current you're running. That can be anywhere from about 4.5 to 6V or more for a Blu-ray diode. A PHR diode can be upwards of 6V if you're running a "high" current and 8.4V is enough to power a little over 6V of output voltage. Now, if your power source is a battery, it may sag low enough as it drains to drop out of regulation if your output is 6V, though.

I've went as low as 7.35 with no problems, didn't push it though and recharged the batteries. I use 8.4 fully charged rcr123 Trustfires, everyone recommends at least 9v but it's do-able on this current. These drivers are awesome

If the overhead voltage drops below the 2.25V like I said, it will not regulate the current any longer. That means the current will start to drop off as the voltage does. So, it will appear to still work, but your current (and output power) will probably be lower. You may not even notice it until it gets a lot lower, though.

So, if it still works at 7.35V, that's what's probably going on. That is, unless your diode is only running around 5V, then ~7.25V would be enough for regulation.

Right. I was afraid to go any lower cause I figured it would bottom out. I was just trying to tell the guy that 8.4v would work fine. Know what I mean? It did lose power at that low voltage though, it was not burning as well.

Im asking because i use 6AAA batteries and each battery are 1.4v 800mAh, i think current will not be a problem because I believe they are in series before it enters the driver and if i am correct current is contant in series
or is there a problem using 6*AAA 1.4v 800mAh each???

how do i know whats the volatge of the diode?

That should be fine. If they're rechargeables, they should have adequate current supplying capacity.

You can go by typical findings others have found at a specific current (there are I-V plots for most diodes around here somewhere), but the blu-ray diodes can also vary. Typically, you can just measure the voltage across the diode while you're driving it and with my driver, supplying more than enough voltage to make sure it is regulating.
