Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

The United States Post Office does not give ANY time frame for delivery for International First-Class Mail (Airmail), I just chose the next highest time period from the ~1-2weeks for priority. Priority Mail International is quoted as 6-10 days, Express mail International is quoted as about 5 days for most places.... check it out at www.usps.com

Does that mean it will take that long? No. I had someone in the Netherlands say they had their package in 5 days via the cheapest method. It may vary among different countries, though. And, those estimates are just what the US Post Office tells me and in the case of the the Airmail, I give a worst-case scenario estimate.

As for insurance, they do not offer insurance on anything except Express Mail International, which $100 worth is included free in that case. All methods have a custom's ID number which can give some info about the status of the package, but not really a tracking number. If anyone should ever NOT receive their package, let me know... but, out of the 50 some packages I've sent internationally (and out of about 200 including the US), I haven't had one package that wasn't delivered.

So, if anyone is wondering how long it will take to get to you, just ask and I'll let you know if I've shipped to anyone in your country and if they ever told me how long it took to get to them.

Hey mate, are you good to receive an international order for 5 x 87ma fixed drivers? Probably grab 3 of the 100ma fixed as well.

thanks,

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

Just got my package of drivers today. Nicely wraped in staticless bags and rapid reply from email. Paid him that afternoon in Australia time, and by the time i woke up and checked the email, he had already sented it. And got it in under 1 week not excluding weekends , i ordered it on the 8th and today is the 14th and when i opened my mail box, i saw a yellow 3M bubble wrap envelop and i knew it was here ;D
So Thanks ALOT for everything, especially the quick reply and response.

Cheers ;)

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

Hi, do you only sell laser parts or you also sell the laser already assembled?
Plus what's your experience in sending intyenational package to Italy if you havhad any.
I'm interested in a blu laser (from 50 to 80mw) and a violet one (same power).
Can you send some more info and some picture of the laser assembled?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

Glad to hear you got your package quickly, Tommy!

To ilchirurgo78, no I don't sell assembled lasers, I'm busy enough with making the drivers ;D There are plenty of members here who build lasers, though. Also, Blu-ray and violet are the same, Blu-ray is just Sony's trade name for the optical media devices which utilize these violet wavelength diodes ;)

As for shipping to Italy, I've never shipped there, though I have shipped to a variety of other international customers with no problems. Is there a specific reason for your concern?

you should ask [link=http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=jake21]Jake21[/link] that same question, he is really good at making blu ray lasers and has crazy cheap prices.

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

can i run 2.4V - 3V into the driver and expect ~150mw from a 16X diode at 250A?

You need at least 2.25V over the diode's voltage (which is typically around 3V for a red diode) to keep the driver in regulation.  Below that, the output current will drop off.  I'm not even sure 2.4-3V would do anything?  If you're using batteries, you should go for at least 6V for a red. Sounds like you may be better suited to go for DrLava's driver if you want to use ~3V.

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

Whew!  I just finished and shipped 14 orders today... all from last Tuesday up until today!

If you've been waiting, I appreciate your patience!  You shouldn't have to wait too much longer.

Thanks!

Also, I will be again be out of town Wed (8/27) night thru Fri (8/29). Orders made during that time will likely ship on Tue (9/2) of the next week (9/1, Mon is a holiday, no mail service).

In addition, since I have now started classes as of today, I won't have nearly as much free time to build these drivers as I did over the summer. Because of this, there may be a longer wait on the drivers as I find time to build them. Depending on how demanding my classes become (these aren't undergrad classes), I may have to temporarily suspend orders or require a minimum order amount with longer production delay. I'm also still working on developing the lower dropout driver, but haven't found much time in the past month to do so with orders, work and travels, but I'll hopefully get it figured out soon.

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

New announcement:

Slight increase in *some* prices, as follows:

Adjustable driver KIT: from $5 to $6
Fixed-value driver KIT: from $4 to $5
Assembled fixed-value drivers: $7.25 to $8

The rest of the item prices all remain the same

Reason for the kits is I used to only get a few orders a month for them, but that has increased by a bit in this past month... and its draining my parts! So, with such a small profit margin on them, I'm trying to make it a little more worthwhile for me. Also, I originally kept the fixed-value drivers low on the price since I was trying to "phase them out", but almost 1/3 of my purchases are fixed-value drivers, so I have adjusted the price to reflect a "continuing" product instead, though the price only goes up $0.75 ;)

Also, I'm going to try using the LM1117 regulator IC instead of the MC33269. They're equivalent parts and essentially the same, and some simple testing shows no difference. Reason is that they're slightly less expensive and don't require me to make a special order for them from an entirely different supplier as my other parts. Anyway, I doubt anyone will even notice, lol.

Re: Micro-Driver laser driver *NOW ADJUSTABLE*

I just found out yesterday that I have to move to Washington next weekend so I could get them to use if they shipped next week.
