Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Those are the ones I used to sell, the Sony 1236 VL diodes - you can make a compact LM317 driver to drive them if you wish - or are you looking for a ready made driver ?

Sorry- I meant to put in that the RKCSTR drivers will work just fine for those as well - you may have to ask him for a higher resistance model though - 400Ma will most likely smoke those diodes :(

i was recommended to use 300mA by the dude at HTD

so how much does a BR usually put out at 38mA?

I wish I could say definitively, but I think it varies.  This post by Hemlock Mike gives a power curve for a blu-ray diode, but results may vary:

Help help help - please :)

I have a BR diode and three of the below diodes.

http://tinyurl.com/5wr4zq

I need drivers for all.  I know what I need for the BR but am stumped at what mA rating I will require for the 250mW reds?

I'm not sure... but would others agree 250mA be a decently safe amount?

Oh, and they're 250mW PULSED, 90mW CW (constant wave, ie continuous operation).

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Ok, thanks everyone. I will order a couple of BR drivers and 3x drivers set at 250mA then.

I understand the 90mW CW, not a problem. I have some nice ally torches to convert to LP's when I can finally get some drivers for them.

Thanks again peeps :)

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

The 'continue shopping' button isn't working on the Paypal checkout.

I've got the drivers in the checkout but it won't let me continue on to order some resistor packs. It just goes on to however many packs i've ordered and forgets the drivers :(

I will have to do 2 seperate orders.

HUH - maybe not the 2 seperate orders. It's asking for a further $12.00 expediated P&P for a $1.50 order :'(

Oh well, will have to do without the resistor kits. Bugger ;)

You should be able to just "go back" in your browser. The checkout cart isn't on your machine.

Peace,

Like daguin said, you can just hit back on the browser, or just open my website again to add more items to the cart.  The cart is stored in your cache (ie cookies), you don't have to keep the Paypal cart open, previous items will be there when you come back.  If your order is incorrect, just let me know, I can refund it and you can either place the order again or I can just send you an invoice for the proper amount.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

I've placed an order for two drivers, one at 35ma and one at 350... I was having problems with the "continue shopping" button so I opened the paypal cart in another window and was able to add as many items as I wanted... but for some reason the resistor kit wouldn't add to the existing cart, it would create a new one....

I'd like to get the resistor kit, or at least the ones to set current to 400ma and perhaps 50ma, should I paypal you another $0.25?

I took a look at my page and I figured out that there were some errors that were causing the problem... they should all be corrected now and the cart should work right. Sending me $.25 won't work because they charge at least $.30 per transaction, so if you don't mind, can you just place the order again and I'll refund the original?

How about I just send you another buck or so? paypal won't let me withdraw less than $15 to my bank account, there is a $0.50 fee for withdrawing $15 if I had it, and there's an 8 buis day hold on the funds.. so it'd be much easier for me just to give you more money than necessary.

Also, could you confirm you got the payment? For some reason I didn't receive a paypal receipt in my email, just want to make sure it went through.

Yup, i got your payment. If I refund your payment, it will be immediately back in your account and you can just pay again, should be no need to add more funds... does that sound OK?

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

You know, I know that's the way it's supposed to work.. and it's worked that way once before (only took 4 days to get back into my account)... but for some reason the last 3 or so refunds I've had were just deposited back into my paypal account... I'd much rather just send you another couple bucks.

What's your paypal email address?

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

[Added to Post #2]

A request by someone on the forum spawned this idea.  Typically, I only offer the values specified in my first post, as you know.  But, if you need a slightly different value, it's possible for a little adjustment between the normal values of 38-400mA by using the 33 ohm resistors I use for the blu-ray in combination with the others.  There is actually a large amount of values possible, so this link below is a spreadsheet with all of the values and other information.  Most people probably won't need anything that specific, but they are available.  Also, as a note, my standard values aren't exact, they can vary by a few mA (except the 38mA, it's almost exact at 37.7mA), as you can see in the document:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pW49OuYfRMm4-k6TaQk0BZw&hl=en

You will need a Google account to view the files above.  Or, alternatively, you can download the Microsoft Excel file here:

http://rkcstr.googlepages.com/OutputSettings.xls

Also, to note... other (ie higher) output values are possible by either adding more parallel resistors or different values.  It's possible to stack more resistors on top of the four, but that's not recommended by me, so feel free to order extra resistors and DIY. For example, a common request of 420mA can be had in the nearest values of either 416mA by ordering a non-standard 340mA driver and adding on two 33ohm resistors on top, or 427mA by ordering a 350mA driver and adding two 33 ohm resistors.

Since it was my fault for the inconvenience, don't worry about it, I'll just send them to you, no charge.
