Default Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

A buck/boost drive is needed if you need to go less then the batterys voltage but still more then the drop makes possible...

At the moment there are so many new drivers, some really tiny ones, some super high powered ones but there are not many drivers which can be set by hand and allow some fine adjustment for current...

You'd have a point if Lava kept up the stock. But he doesnt. There are numerous drivers out there that will get the work done, for half the price. Its silly to wait around when you can be building.

Sure you could buy a few, but not everyone has that much money. So your points are valid, but are not practical.

So get a boost driver and put a resistor in series with your Laser,
Sure you dont get good efficency, but with lasers its not all that important.

if people want this for red or infrared diodes then just use an AMC7135 driver. they're easy, simple and inexpensive. And more efficient then boosting then dropping the voltage
