I resoldered that connection and I was able to adjust it up to 183ma which is where I want to be, but after it gets there it sits for 2-3 seconds and then rapidly goes down to about 60-80ma where it bounces around. I am assuming that isn't supposed to be happening. I am thinking it is something wrong with the pot. I will send it back to you drlava if I can't get it fixed. Thanks for all the help guys. I really want to get this thing working(my GGW diode needs to be used).

Check the FlexDrive manual on drlavas sales site. The FD can go up to 1.5A. 140mA is absolutely no problem. Just for info, those FDs are real tiny and you should have some soldering skills. Also, from the specs, the diode might be a PHR; for that, 140mA is rather high, so it may not live long (i.e. the diode may burn out).

Thanks man, that's what I was worried about. Looks like i'm stuck with about 125ma. Wish I hadn't plunked my loot on an unknown LD. But I did it before discovering LPF ;-/..........LOL

Yep, dr-ebert's right, it will be no problem driving that diode. For PHR diodes, most request 115 to 120mA for pointers.
