Haha, it took me a whole minute before I realized this thread had been stickied... No wonder I couldn't find it  ;D

That thing is small, though

Looks like I'm not the only one! lol. Yep it's as compact as it can possibly get without having components on both sides.

That thing is TINY! (that is NOT what she said!)

My chubby fingers will make hard work of dealing with that ;D ;D

NEWS! they are here! :)

Also, when trimmed they can fit in aixiz modules now.  I still don't see much of a need, but people requested it.  :D

Shipping will commence immediately.  The solder jumper in the bottom corner is the high-range selector.

P.S.  hmm it's sticky now :)  I hope I'm the only one with the habit of automatically scrolling past the stickies on forums I visit!  :p

Good news!

'Solder jumper ...high range selector'? New instruction sheet just says 'solder jumper':
http://hacylon.case.edu/laser/lavadrive2/Micro_Flex_Drive_User_manual_ V2.pdf
Sounds like you just solder a connection between the two spots for higher range?

Also, the instruction sheet says that you can remove the small black box at the upper right. Out of curiosity, if it can be removed, what is it's purpose?

Awesome...my 803T's were early, now they look sad and lonely, I'm sure they'll become great friends with the new flexdrive!

I'm actually all for it fitting the Aixiz module! :D

I love good news.
Soo....
When are you going to get everyone's order shipped out? (Just out of curiosity, I'm not rushing you!)

That is the protection diode that helps prevent the unit from overheating if the user accidentally powers it up with no load. The V1 did not have it and if you're careful it's not necessary.

I am shipping now and the next few days will catch up with the backorders.

So how does this new driver work? Do i have to solder the unfinished connection together to get it to work at high range?

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

I have a PHR-803T lying around waiting for his new friend lavadrive, but I don't have a dummy load to test it with. Since the default range is 64-110mA, I should be able to just hook the PHR-803T up and then set the current I want?

Yes, that's pretty much exactly what that range was meant for.

Yes, the solder jumper pads are close together, so it's pretty easy to do.

If you replace the pot from the driver with one of the three off of the PHR sled, it will give you more than 200mA. My meter maxes out at 200 so it just displays OL (overload). I don't know how much more than 200mA it goes but it gives a pretty good range from 0-200+ mA

Dont have a phr-803t sled
