Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

So, question going out there. The 100-500mA would be suitable for high power blu-rays, right? Like, sticking it at 100-150mA.

Also can they run with 2x CR123a batts?

I'm looking for a driver that does around 100-150mA that can run on 2x CR123a :)

What is the difference between the V2 boards, and the old boards?

About the 6 volt supply, check DrLava's post here:
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1210054203
Just use a silicon diode to drop the voltage to 5.5 volts!

Not sure how his new V2 FlexDrives will be, but the current high range drivers will not let a blu-ray 'dummy load' get below about 147mA's. At least this was my findings on two different high range drivers.

So, if you want less than 140ish mA's, you will need the low range driver.

Not sure, but I thought I read somewhere that DrLava's new FlexDrives may have a wide range of adjustment. And the same driver can be used for either red, or blu-ray.

Drlava, what say?

correct, the V2 driver has both ranges built into one, has the same input voltage range, will be able to deliver more power, and (still have to test this) should not be damaged by accidentally running it without a load. Any orders placed now and in the past weeks will be receiving one.

If your looking for this then the fusion drive might work for ya or use the flexdrive with a diode to drop the voltage below 5.5v You CANNOT use rechargables however while doing this as the voltage (obviously) is higher than 6v.

...Or use a single 18650 battery, since they are double the length of a CR123:)
