Hey guys! Well today I just got my 50mw module in the mail. I fitted my old 5mw module into the stainless kit and it worked great. There were only 2 available connections to choose from to which to solder, so that was a no brainer.

The 50mw module has 4 connections. I tried the 2 closest to the spring and the two farthest. Before I go jumping into solder a little bit more (currently outta time too) maybe you guys might be able to help. Here is a picture. Thanks!

Easy to check continuity with your DMM by putting it on the setting that will 'beep' when the two probes are touched together...

Then just touch one probe to one solder point, and the other probe to a different solder point while testing the button.

But it will probably be the two on one side of the switch. Either side will probably not matter...

My grade: Outstanding. Not only did you put out a very nice product jayrob, the product your recommended was great as well. I chose to order the 50mw green module from o-like. Reasons for this was it was my first build, I didnt need to do any over kill. Also, being my first order from o-like I am now happy with their services as well.

Hopefully soon I can get some pictures up to compare from my old 5mw green laser pen on 2xAAA to the new 50mw on 1xCR123.

Actually the beam when projected on a wall 10' away is a little harsh to look at, probably could use some protective glasses when using the device. I see solid beams during the day about as bright as the 5mw laser could project at night.

When aiming into the sky at night, the intensity is incredible. The beam is solid all the way to the clouds. Looking forward to future builds. One day I will probably seek a high intensity flashlight when I complete my firefighting training and become a firefighter.

Thanks for posting back... :)

About a nice flashlight. I'm getting great feedback on my XM-L T6 Maglite mod over at Candle Power Forums. Please share the link with your fire house boys. I'm sure some of them will want one of these bad boys: :D

One of the reasons that O-like has a good reputation, is because they test their modules...

They state 80 to 100mW's, and the output power will be with-in that range.

I have tested IR loss at about 10%. Which is not bad at all...

Sometimes you get a module that is way above the stated output. I have two of the 100mW modules from O-like that are 140 to 150mW's. :)
