Viktor, I'm sending your SolarForce kit and other items today. (Wednesday)

Thanks for your patience...

Hope you like it!

I've noticed that the EzFocus Adapter does not fit through the head of the LP2.
Is this normal?

Yes, I make them about 10 thousands larger in diameter than the heatsink.

The EzFocus just installs last. (with the lens)

It should be centered perfectly. But if there is just a hair movement with the fit of the main sink, then you can loosen the head and center the heatsink better...

danefex, I sent your SolarForce Gun Metal kit with other items today. (Tuseday)

Thanks!

I figured you did this on purpose seeing as the driver cavity has such tight tolerances, I was just curious.
It's nice to have a hand held that I can only look at the beam and not the spot without protection :yh:
:thanks:

It's the thought that counts...

Thanks Glenn! :)

The picture of the SolarForce host with gun metal finish looks a lot like stainless steel. It is not, but it looks very similar...

One of the bezel options they have, can be purchased in stainless, but not the complete host.

I would be interested in a kit in order to build a good hand held burning laser for a project I am working on. Need the whole works and would like your suggestions. I am looking for raw burning power, but want to have a visible beam (IR is not a good option). About 2 watts looks like my best compromise for a hand held. Also need a suggestion on a diode that will work in one of your hosts.

I sell the complete build except for the laser diode and the batteries...

You can get a 445 diode from Dave. He has an option to have it pre-installed into an AixiZ module with lead wires soldered on. (recommended) Here is his thread:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/445nm-diodes-stock-xj-a140-52076.html

There are others also selling 445 diodes in the BST section…

The battery needed for this build is here:
AW 18650 Protected 2900 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery

Proper eye protection needed:
ARG - Blu Ray, Argon, Blue, KTP [NR-ARG-EN207] - $80.50

So if you got your diode in an AixiZ module with lead wires ready, all you would need to do, is connect your diode leads, to my driver leads. (with 'Hot' option kit)

Send me a private message for ordering the kit! :)

Thanks for the quick reply. I messages Dave to see if he still has any diodes in the high power class. Does your kit support power levels above 1 watt? I want to get as much bang as I can get, what is the possibility of getting to 1.8 or 2 watts?

I love your hosts, especially the gun metal looking version. Will place an order once I sort out the path to over 1 watt. To get the extra battery power, do I need your extended version?

Output power will not only depend on current to the diode, but also on the lens choice...

Most people are choosing the AixiZ 445 lenses (or AixiZ 405) because it has a better looking dot with these multimode 445 diodes which make a line instead of a dot. The 3 element AixiZ lenses 'clip' the line shorter. (about 15% less power output vs 405-G-1)

So over 1 Watt is easy with a FlexDrive set at 1.5 Amps. Even with an AixiZ 445 lens. But you need a driver heatsink as well. (shown at the bottom of the first post)

If you want 2 Watts, you will need a high efficiency diode (not all 445 diodes will do 2 Watts), a 405-G-1 glass lens, and about 1.8 Amps.

For 1.8 Amps, you need dual FlexDrives, or a FlexModP3 driver as shown in my Maglite build: (which can put out even 4 Amps, so it is 'future proof')
http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/f...exmodp3-side-button-forward-clicky-57278.html

For the SolarForce, dual FlexDrives can fit, but it will be very tight. The best way, is to glue the drivers to the inside wall of the driver cavity of the main sink. But then it is a permanent set up with no way to adjust the drivers or anything.

Another way, would be to make a square copper heatsink, and have drivers on each side of it. Making a 'plug' that can be removed.

Either way will be possible, but in my opinion, the SolarForce host is better for a single driver. Simply because the driver cavity is a little tight on space for dual drivers.

Send me a private message for further discussion! :)
