Ok so I just turned on the laser for approximately 30 seconds and this time I think I felt a very little warmth on the very top of the head at 23 seconds. but it was only a bit, maybe nothing. it wasnt warm after i turned it off too.Strange.

Sounds like it's fine...

Your going to get a little warmth after 30 seconds or a minute with your red build. That's why I always use a 1 minute on / 1 minute off duty cycle.

Igor has mentioned that a duty cycle may not be necessary when he was testing blu-ray diodes. But I figure it can't hurt! (he never finished explaining his theory though)

Hey thanks for extra info and I have to say I am doing like 10 min duty cicles off and then using my laser for max 30 secs everytime. Its simple. I don't have anything do with it if I run it that often. so I just leave it to rest xD

Two pill pieces??

You mean the round battery contact board to the pill?

In the first post of this thread, it is a 'picture tutorial' of the assembly. Plus there are some 'Build tips' at the bottom of the post as well...

Only if you cannot screw the assembly into the head of the host without letting the wires get twisted...

You could use a very small amount of adhesive to connect the heatsink to the pill, but I have found that it is not necessary, because you can 'pinch' the assembly tight together between your thumb and ring finger.

See the 'build tips' in the first post.

The pill is part of the host, it holds the round battery contact/circuit board, and is what the emitter is mounted on...

Take a look at the 6th picture down in the first post of this thread, and you will see a picture of how it is slightly modified for this build.

I would recommend just getting the complete kit. Host/heatsink/drill the pill. Then the 'Hot' option includes the installation of a FlexDrive into the pill with lead wires ready, and current set as shown here:
