Re: FS: MXDL Host & Heatsink Combo! (4171 or 3405)

BNuggs, just to let you know that your package is shipping today. (Friday)

* 4171 Host/Heatsink combo with FlexDrive 'Hot' option set at 125mA's.
* 3405 Host/Heatsink combo with adjustable DDL driver 'Hot' option set at 125mA's.

The DDL driver uses a 100ohm 4 turn 1/2 watt pot. This driver will give you adjustment between 12.5mA's and 400mA's. It will go higher, because there is not a series resistor built into the circuit. But it is recommended for up to 400mA's in this circuit, not higher.

As a reminder, always discharge the cap by shorting the lead wires together before connecting your LD. It is a good practice to do this. Even with a FlexDrive... just in case! ;)

Just curious jayrob, would a Pocket Pal have enough heat sinking to keep a 6x diode alive for a while? Thanks man

Re: FS: MXDL Host & Heatsink Combo! (4171 or 3405)

Should be just fine!

I have an 8X in the even smaller Pocket Mini! With these diodes, the forward voltage will be around 6 volts at 300mA's, so you have to stay below 300mA's with a FlexDrive build, but that is still a whole lot of power!

I'm happy with 375mW's of blu-ray in my tiny Pocket Mini! (292mA's) This is using my 405-G-1 glass lens modification...

Re: FS: MXDL Host & Heatsink Combo! (4171 or 3405)

Jay, I got my 4171 today and i am so glad i went with your setup!! This thing feels and looks GREAT! i am burning stuff faster than i have ever before. I cant wait to get some good pictures up of it for you to see. It took me like 5 minutes to get it up and going that hot option you have is awesome saves a lot of time and work and even possible money.  Your instructions that came with it were wonderful to not that anyone would need them with the hot option. Just wanted to say thanks and that i would be buying my equipment from you for now on!!   Thanks again man!!!

Re: FS: MXDL Host & Heatsink Combo! (4171 or 3405)

This 4171 MXDL host is B-E-A-UTIFUL!!! I am yet to have my two CR123A batteries for it, but for the meantime I tested it out with two CR2 batteries and an Aixiz head wrapped in electrical tape (to fill the space). It worked flawlessly, and gave me that irreplaceable feel of having a heavy, well-built, cylindrical, metallic object in one’s hand with laser light coming out of it! LOVELY. Jayrob was very accommodating and even modded it for a full-length Aixiz module (so I could use a rckstr driver). He also prepared everything for an extra $10 so that all I needed to do was attach two wires to the driver I am using and install the Aixiz module, diode, and driver into the host. It now works! Thanks, Jayrob.

Update! Here's some pics! I also just uploaded a video to youtube, but it doesn't really show off the host... more the fact that the laser can light a match. I'll add the link when the video is done processing.
